This topic may have been raised before but in my search for "Low" and "Insurance" I had 496 threads returned of which none were easily identifiable as answering what I wanted to know. It seemed to return threads that included either "insurance" or "low" and not both words. Is there a way to improve this?
Anyway, The Question: How strict are insurance companies about the requirements of lowered suspension. For example, a particular insurance company requires only that the car to be 'legal' in height. If 'legal' in Victoria is 100mm clearance and you take your car down to say, 80mm and at some point in the future need to claim, is the insurance company likely to decline your claim?
How often would it be considered that lowered suspension contributed to the cause of an accident?
There are many of you on this forum who appear to be below the legal requirements - so what are your (and others') thoughts on this ???
WANTED: A plain WHITE VZ bootlid (no spoiler or chrome strips).
Please let me know if you see one for sale anywhere.
my car is about 15mm too low in the rear. I told my insurance company about it and they just added that to the list of mods. I have since had the car assessed by the insurance company for panel damage and the assessor drove and looked at my car, he did not say anything about being too low. i think you would viod your insurance if the cause of the accident was,for example, your car bottomed out and you lost control or a tyre poped becuase it was rubbing on the gaurd due to the ride height
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
if you caused an accident and it was a minor claim.. doubt insurance co would bother checking, but what if you took out a >$1.5mil bugatti veyron, i somehow think they would null your claim for just about anything they could find.
I think it will be fine. My x rode off her car, it pretty much didnt even have springs it was so low. And it was insured under her dads name for cheaper insurance so she was only listed as a 10% driver, even though she had pink seat cover etc.... and she still got her $8000. But like farlig said, If you hit something worth $1mil then insurance will do anythin to not pay it
