Headlights yes, tail lights it depends how much you tint them. ADR's state the lights must be seen at x distance at night and x distance during the day so if they still meet those requirements it is still technically legal...But cops will defect you anyway (they're gonna walk 100m or whatever back from the car to test your lights  )

hey my computer was f*cking up last night and i didnt even think it posted. but i was just after some tips for tinting, also if anyone knows the exact distances that taillights need to be seen from? cheers

My ADRs just state 1 distance (200metres). If you can see that in the day, chances would be pretty good you'll see them at the same distance at night.....

Last time I read the ADR's, there were different distances for each light... Tail light, brake light, reverse, indicators. And different distances for day and night.

Oh and under NO circumstances are the reflectors to be tinted AT ALL. That is an automatic defect.

This may sound primitive but why would you want to tint ur headlights? Ithink i,d rather make mine brighter not duller!?!?!!!????

well my headlights are extremly dull anyways so i was thinking gettin some of those ridiculously bright white globes then putting a couple layers of tint over. I cant imagine it'd be any worse than what it is now and i reckon it'd look alright, having dark grey/black head lights...just something a little different.
