My perfect, and hopefully next, car!!
The SV300, HSV's most special VX. This thread is all about collecting info on this brilliant model, and I'll start by volunteering this article:
AutoWeb - New Car Test - HSV SV300
Another article, comparing with the Jaguar S-Type R:
HSV SV300 v Jaguar S-Type R – Car Reviews, News & Advice - CarPoint Australia
I've attached a couple of pictures as well.
Please, if you can add anything, be it reviews, feedback if you own one, good photos etc, do so!!
Sam

lol @ f1tzy
Yeah all the SV300s are manual, and all come with the Callaway built 300kw motor. I have driven 2 of these cars, one with a cam upgrade, and they are incredible. I'm simply in love with the interior as well; personally I think it's the nicest interior I've seen, including Senator Signature and Grange models.
In short, I really want one of these. Not sure on colour though; black, dark green and the gold all look pretty good.

Just did a little harvesting of information from .. another forum
Couple of bits and pieces, I hope they're accurate! Here we go.......
- SV300 had special leather trim, C4B, manual and was a clubby spliced with a senator
- 300 GTSs were made, but I think only 100 SV300s were made
- Another cool feature with the SV300s is the 2 tone seats, black with mustard inserts looks hot as!!
- SV300 was introduced to the VXII series to replace the Senator 300
- The VX SV300 --- 134 built.
There seems to be a bit of discrepancy when it comes to how many were actually built... either way it wasn't many!!

A good one will go for $35-40k. I really do like these, although i find the interior is a little dated. Im saving hard for a VX of some sort, although im thinking of going a VX SS (gen 3 manual) for around $15-20k, and then upgrading the interior to a VY SS level, and working the engine.
As a stock car, the SV300 is amazing. But $20k spent upgrading an SS will probably yeild better results. thats just my personal opinion. Either that, or possibly a VX Senator Manual (hard to find) for around $30k, then spend $10k on upgrades...

If i bought a sv300 i wouldnt be modifying it one bit keeping it stock.
If you want to modify something, there would be no point de-facing one of these.
