    Default SRS Airbag Fault

    Hi guys,
I was in the process of putting leather in my car and i turned the ignition on without the side airbags plugged in... doh! Now i have an SRS airbag fault. I did some reading and i'm told i need to have it reset from someone using tech2.. i.e. holden dealer.
Anyway, can i buy a tool and do it myself, how much does it cost? Also, how much does holden charge to do it?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Take it to where you get it serviced. If it's a quick reset they might just do it and cut you loose without hassle seeing as they're making money off you long term anyway.

The only problem may be that they will want to hang onto the car and go over the connections you've messed with to "make sure" everything is where it should be. At least that would be their excuse for doing some sort of inspection and charging you for it.

    Default SRS Airbag component

I have a fault with my VS Commodore with the Airbag light on the dash. I went to the local Holden Dealership and they told me that I need a new SDM Component which costs $370, and it will take $120 to install with labour. I am searching for another answer, as I took it to three local mechanics and they all directed me to Holden to fix the problem.

Take it to your local Holden dealer is your best bet. They will scan for errors, and a code should come up telling them what is wrong, and if it is an easy fix they will fix it and clear the code. I got mine done yesterday, except their scan tool didn't pick up any code, so they reset the computer and the airbag light hasn't come on since!

    Hmm.
So every time I take my seats out (unplug the seat air bag wires) I have to pay holden dealer to clear the code. Sounds costly. Last time they plugged the tech2 in it coast me $70 ($70 plug in fee, before they even do anything else).

    Found this on another forum...

Do your radio controls still work??? I had the same issue and lost all the radio controls on the steering wheel, a new set of clock springs fixed it.

just disconnect your battery before you take the seats out and dont connect it again untill the seats are back in.
