SRS Airbag light

I have a fault with my VS Commodore Acclaim with the Airbag light on the dash. I went to the local Holden Dealership and they told me that I need a new SDM Component which costs $370, and it will take $120 to install with labour. I am searching for another answer, as I took it to three local mechanics and they all directed me to Holden to fix the problem, is there another solution?

No need to have posted a new thread, should have just joined in with mine. Anyway, holden will charge an arm and a leg to do any work to your car. You might be better off trying to source a new SDM Component (whatever that is?) elsewhere (ebay, wreckers?) and having holden install it. You could also run a search on yellowpages for car airbag places, i'm sure you will find something.

SDM = Sensing Diagnostic Module = Airbag Module
price sounds about right.

hi, my vt has had a new sdm, and key remotes and i have replaced the aibag clock spring and the light is still on
