    Default Painting buttons etc

Just wondering how everyone has managed to mask up the writing/symbols on buttons, switches etc when painting their interiors?
I read something about a gel you can use, but can't find it anywhere

yeah there is a product called masking paint, its sets similar to a gel and is easily peeled off leaving the surface underneath untouched, I have been using it on a few bits and pieces, i'm experimenting for my interior upgrade later this year.

My mum has it and let me borrow it, spotlight and most art and craft stores will be your best bet, just follow the line of nannas man, can't be too hard, PM me if you get stuck, i'll ask my mum.

Also you could try toy or modelling shops that have a good selection of plastic model kits and equipment...there are several products like that which you use for "masking up" things like canopy lines on model aircraft and other finely detailed stuff. I believe it has a name something like liquid tape or liquid mask...haven't used it for quite a few years now, but it used to work very well.

Or try taking it all OFF the car and painting it. For your buttons (inner door buttons), use a flat instrument, pop the orange tab off of the button (when button is up or unlocked position), undo the screw behind that and it comes right out. Better than masking everything around it and risking getting crap all over your interior. Plus it will turn out better anyways. 99% of interior items on VN - VS are **** easy to remove. Just held in with clips and screws.

It is all off the car atm.
It is just the things like pictures on the headlight switch and vents that I want to mask up so when I paint around them I still have the pictures

thats the exact same thing I wanted to accomplish, I have seen HEAPS of cars with painted or dyed interiors and they have all left there buttons standard, sitting there sticking out like a sore thumb
