Bunnings. Ive seen them in there catalogue. Theres cheap and expencive brands.
in terms of cutting on plastic like bars, splash sheilds
i use a air hacksaw but if your not able to get one ive used side cutters, tin snips or anything that will get through it to get the genral shape, then followed by using a die grinder tip too trim it up neatly
just make sure you give your self room to grind, dont cut on the line. grinding is neater and easyer
one thing you will want is a varible speed dremel if they have them,
if you hold it flat out you will just melt the plastic and a clog the grinder piece
its a effort to clean them
as for power output i have no idea :P

cheers sean
underneath the radiator shield the size and structure of the plastic changes greatly, i think tin snips will hack it too much, even tidying up after with a grinding tool i think it would look like arse.
There is a thread on LS1 that shows a DIY approach, and he used a dremel tool. Just need to get some pinching mould to go around where i have cut to tidy it up.
could run a small line of that condue pipe which is for looms over the edge.
would tidy it up so you cant see the edge if its not straight. just a thought

Aldi actually have them on special this week for $39.99.
I'm no expert, but I'd say they'd do the job. I was thinking about heading out to grab one...
I got mine from dick smiths for about $25. But have also seen them in bunnings.
Bunnings also sells better quality attachments for them. The dick smiths ones were crap.
Aldi is a basically a cheap supermarket

use a fane saw(pretty sure thats what its called) its like a circular hacksaw blade that vibrates. doesnt melt the plastic, can do straight lines with your eyes closed. and doesnt leave a messy edge like a rotating or spining tool would leave.
use it heaps at work, and never have to put spilt tubing or pinch mould.
or if you cant get your hands on one of them, a air hacksaw would be better then a dremal
You mustn't have them yet. They are a cheap (and arguably nasty) supermarket designed to compete with the big boys (Coles & Woolies). They also have special offers every week where they'll sell hardware, homewares, clothes, toys, even TV's/DVD's/laptops.
It's not brand name stuff, but it seems to do the job. I've only ever bought hardware and a small TV for the garage from there and it's all been pretty good.
Anyway, I digress - looks like Bunnings might be your best bet. I'll let you know how the Aldi dremel goes!
p.s. I just had another look - it's actually $29.99!! And it has variable speed.

...well as for brands, "Dremil"(sp?) is like panadol, they make a product and the name has stuck into your mind....
as panadol does paracetimol(sp? again..) dremil's do rotary tools...
As its been said, there are better tools, you best bet it to go into a shop like mitre10 and talk to a tools expert, then, bail to bunnings and by the right tool.
Reason? Mitre10 employs people that actually "know" there job, the dont just employ any joe blogs (usually) to work in sales, register maybe, but they focus on advice rather than mass quantity.
Bunnings dont really, they have staff that know there jobs too but there usually busy and hard to find... if around at all....
Bunnings will match any price mitre10 can do and you will have the range too...
aZk.
