    Exclamation Caliper rebuilding

well a while ago i stripped my brakes for my Vl to get powder coated then rebuilt,
today i ordered the kits needed to do the vt front calipers and vl rear calipers, the kits should be in monday

    now my question is,
what do you soak/clean the piston and sliders in???

i think i recall reading you can use either metholated spirats or clean new brake fluid.

can anyone verify this for me????

i think you could jus use the new brake fluid as the should already be clean

Metholated spirits is the go for cleaning off old brake fluid. If there is any surface rust on the pistons, use steel wool to scrub them and then rinse off with the metho

ended up buying the vl calipers kits today, had instructions say to clean will metho,
yer i checked the pistons over and the was no rust or pitting,
really if theres any rust you should replace them to save it leaking.
dont want brake failure to happen at worst case

    much better
