Default Holden Certified Used Vehicles Warranty

Ok it says in my sale contract that for the 3 year warranty to be valid i must have my SS serviced at the dealer i bought it off. Is this right ? as i had some midas sales chick trying to tell me i can have my services done anywhere and still retain the 3 year warranty? Or does this only apply to the manufacturers warranty when buying a new car?

the certified warranty is kept if the car is seviced every 6 months or x amount of km's.
the used car warranty our car yard offers allows the buyer to take their car elsewhere if they please aslong as if they want a part replaced under the warranty their servicing is up to date, there is no problems

For the Holden Certified warranty it will onyl stay valid servicing it at that dealer as it is not a new car warranty.

get it in writghing from were ever you want to go to.
I seem to remember that there was a court ruling about car service and going back to dealer but do not know if it cover second hand warranties.
Who is the the warranty through is it holden or undersigned buy another company.
Most 2nd hand warranties are brought from an insurance company so even though you may go back to the place you brought it from they get paid by someone else to fix it and on the cheap side to.

i had a vehicle i bought from smiths, and that had the 3yr 175k holden cert warranty, that had to be serviced at smiths to retain the warranty. after i traded in that vehicle, i received many letters saying time to service, etc until one letter said due to not having it serviced the warranty had expired. i didn't care i traded the car 3months earlier

Also interested to find out the answer to this.

New cars you can def.. go anywhere you want, as long as the log book is filled out correctly. Certified i've never heard either way. But personally, i'd lose the warranty to not have to go back to holdens.....

the used car certified warranty is different to a new car warranty.

the used car certified warranty is a contract that you sign, typically indicating you will bring the car back to the dealer for servicing. you must abide by that.

a new car warranty has no such agreement. you can go anywhere you like, although if you go elsewhere, you will have to convince the dealer the servicing was done properly before they will honour the warranty.
