2 things here.
1... i was messing around with the cigarette lighter in my 1991 vp and did some re-wiring. my dash lights dont work now and i kinda need them to see how fast im going at night, i have replaced the fuse but still not working. please email me
2... the reason i was re-wiring my cigarette lighter was so i could work my neon lights. they still dont work and im stumped what to do. is there another way i could do this. like wiring them from the battery to a switch then to the neons or something... if so. how could i do it?
there is probably a short in the circuit, especially if you blew a fuse. It is uncommon to blow all at once even if you do short it out, I would remove everything you have done, double check all areas you have worked on
I.E Cutting, Joining, Soldering
Ensure everything is 200% then re-check the fuse and try your interior illumination again.
run a positive wire from the battery to the neon, put a switch inbetween on the positive wire and mount it somewhere on the dash if you like, then earth the neon (earth wire) to the car body, polarity is important on neons as they actually run on AC and most have a little inverter box (I think thats right?)
other then that, with electrical stuff follow these rules.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal BEFORE starting any work.
Double check your work and reconnect the battery and test each item as you go.
insulate everything properly good old duct tape is good, but heat shrink tubes are better especially with some good old black nitto electrical tape on the outside for a double layer.
Try not to tap into other circuits too much you can overdraw the amps through some wires that are not meant to handle the load.
check behind the ciggy plug the metal ring always comes off on vn-vps and shorts out wires
