    Default Expanding foam filler

ok so i'm sick of my rattling boot because of my sub and was wondering if anyone had filled there boot lid with that expanding foam filler stuff to try to make it a lil more solid. I know i could just buy some sound deadener but the foam filler is a f*ck load cheaper so wouldnt mind giving it a go. any one have any suggestions?

NO NO NO, If your talking about expandable foam filler that comes in a spray type can and is used for builders and **** do not use it. Me and my mates use to have a ball with a can of that ****, spray it crap and it will break stuff quite easily.
Seen a show they sprayed to much in a brand new kitchen to fill some gaps and it literally shattered a big piece of wood every where, if you made the slightest mistake you will warp panels, not to mention its hard **** to clean up.

much worse of a idea then expander foam

silicone is acidic, give it a few months and your paint will be blistering with rust bubbles.
i used sillicone in the back of my Vl to stop a leak only to find later on that it caused rust, when i came to cut the rust out O'boy did the silicone make a mess

DO NOT get foam-o-fill onyour skin. trust me, i know from experience. i tried warm water, warm water with soap, petrol, kero, vaseline, hand scrub with sandy stuff in it... nothing worked and my hands were red for 2 days.

mmm, dunno what type you use, but we have a few different types at work and put it all over cars, and we always get them back around 3 years later once the lease runs out (ambulance, poilce, fire and rta) and i have never seen one rust due to silicone, and we use alot of it.

I rember trying to fill a rust hole with this sh*t years ago The can had a long flexible hose so you could get right into the hole. I lined it up pulled the trigger and the hose came off and filled up my eye socket with expanding foam ,Had to go to hospital to get it off .

are they silicone or are they polyurathane? polyurathanes (stika flex, KD bonds sealer etc )are fine they wont cause rust.
same feel as silicone just they are not acidic and want cause rusting

from what Police vehicles ive worked the patty wagons, seem to rust out the tray areas before the 40,000km lease is over as they tend to use silicone

I used normal silicone in a mates corolla and that thing has rust eveywhere but where the silicone is nothing wrong with it in my opinion does the job good.

Depends if it's an acidic or neutral cure silicone.

yer KD bond and seal want cause rust nor will it suck in the panel when it drys, really good stuff that

my mistake, well suppose i should of said your general silicone will cause rust ie: sellies all clear and alikes
wurth being the brand that they are, are developed for the automotive indestries so they ofcourse they will be a neutral cure like Airstrike said
also not the average joe knows about wurth or where you can get it
