When i got my 04 VYII S, it had only 1key, no spare key and no glove box key
does anyone know how much it costs to get another key cut, and a new glove box key?
my vy only got one key, cost me $120 for new key cut, the key head and programmed.
sweet but is it possible to get a new glovebox key done, if you dont have the actual key??
not sure, i dont have a glovebox key either. see your local holden dealer, the'll be able to supply one, you might be able via a locksmith if you have a code.(from your holden dealer)
ok cool, has anyone done this before?
Hi,
In the papers you should have got was a card that had the key numbers and PIN numbers for the car.
If you don't have them , take your rego papers to a holden dealer and they can print out all the relavent numbers. I was able to get a glove box key this way.
You may have to pay for the radio PIN no, though.
Hope this helps.

i know a holden dealer that charges for the radio codes through service dept, the trick is - try to get it through parts dept. most of the time they will just give it to you.
i have all the papers with the key numbers...
how much am i looking for a new main key to be cut... and a glovebox key?
I paid around $100 for a 2-button one to be cut and programmed by a locksmith. Holden wanted $20 more

ok cool, was it the genuine key aswell?
Well it has the holden symbol on it, not sure if it is genuine holden or not.
I went into holden to get it, and they sent me to a locksmith to get the blade cut, and the locksmith told me he would do the whole lot for $20 cheaper. I bet the dealer wonders why noone ever goes back with the blade

good mate of mine is head mechanic at holden service/dealership. He said re-programming was a $20 rip off. The mechanics do the programming and it takes like 2 mins. But the key itself has to be cut at locksmith, so there's no avoiding the 100-150 price on cutting unfortunately.
Tell a mechanic you spoke to the 'guy at the desk' and he said it would cost $20 on top of cutting but he seemed like a bit of a wanker so you just wanted to double check he wasn't ripping you off. 99% of the time mechanics will do you a favour if you think their manager is as much of a wanker as they do... unless they are related to them. In which case try another dealership. :P
