I got done this arvo for failing to have control. Far from it. I was doing a u turn, saw a car turn out of a side street, gave her a bit, wheel spun, a touch of smoke and a$153 fine later. Info on the ticket says 'Execute 'U' turn & cause rear tyres to screech. Surely they have better things to do with their time. Fair enough if i had the thing side ways up the street, but this ....
Not happy. I was told i was lucky to not have my car impounded....
Yeah smokin the treads in front of the coppers aint a good idea! If you pulled a u turn and a little screech was heard well..thats another matter!
half way through a right hand u turn ... when u put ur foot down a little, even if ur car doesnt have lsd, more than likely u will get some wheel spin. My car is probably one of the least powered cars on this forum ... an it aint hard to do. I wasnt tryin to be a hero in any sense
"fail to have control" nah man you just fail. Best option is to get some driving lesson and learn to drive in the correct manner and dont come on a forum and complain when you get caught for breaking the law.
.:Blown VT V6, DAJ37:.
I challenged the same type of fine, for the fact i had full control of the vehicle.
The female cop even made a note of 'at least you had your hazards on)
Never really understood the wording of some of their fines.

If you can't execute a turn (even a U turn) without spinning the wheels then you need driving lessons or sell the sell the VP and buy a KB Laser. Which will it be? Don't come here crying because you got busted doing the wrong thing. Do the wrong thing and there's consequences. Suck it up.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
The solution next time, BigRed, would be to simply forget about cars turning onto the main road, and not spin the wheelsI know how easy it is to bag up shoddy tyres on a VP. I'm sure you know how easy it is too, and you know exactly what will and what will not trigger wheelspin. If it was enough spin to produce smoke, or even to squeal, then you knew you were doing it, and really deserved the fine
You will also frequently see people complaining about being pulled over for chirping between gears. Well, my VP had a hard shift-kitted 1-2 shift. When driving in the WET with 175s on the back, I somehow miraculously was able to keep the car from wheelspinning. Probably something to do with the fact that I wasn't thrashing my car.
It's possible under nearly all conditions, to choose an option that will not break road rules. With the possible exception of a steep hill-start on a T-Junction in Brisbane in a cammed manual with shoddy tyres, an open diff, and a button clutch. So be considered lucky that you weren't hoon towed, because I've seen people lose their cars for a lot less.
Keep in mind - I don't agree with the rules - but them's the laws of the land, so you'd do well to be a little more careful![]()

I think it had been thrown a little out of proportion ... it wasnt as many of u are making it out to be. If i had been doing somethin that was rightfully out of control or complete loss of traction, then yeh fair enough. however i dont know what u mean by shoddy tyres, but i have brand new(25 mins on road worth) tyres. But as many seem to be advising ... ill go and get lessons, because clearly i need to be shown be you all how to not do the above. If u drive a car with decent balls, im sure u have all turned the wheels in an inappropriate way. My appologies ... iv been a bad bad boy
Take it easy mate! if you genuinely know that you where in the right and did not mean to pull wheel spin then who gives a **** what other people write! It just sounds like it was done a little on purpose thats all!! If ya still think your right then take em to court simple!!
It's an SS, so it has LSD right? I should know thisWas it standard or optional?

The fine is for failing to control traction not vehicle control. If you didnt have control of the car youd be done for dangerous driving ect ect. Your actually lucky you didnt get done for undue smoke. My mate did a short 1/2m skid, he got done for failing to have control, undue noise, undue smoke + db test (prior to impound laws) Your actually lucky, so i wouldnt be complaining.
Given that these days losing traction is an instant hoon tow, yeah, he's luckyStill, I think we can all be a little less derogatory. It's always frustrating ending up on the wrong side of petty laws, even when you know are in the wrong. I mean, we all bitch about parking fines
