I went for Bilstein and am very happy. Speak to Quadrant Suspension in Berwick (vic) and they will advise exactly what you need. Then see your local distributor to pick them up. Quadrant are the Australian agent.

I went KYB in mine. Very stiff rebound and compression compared to say a monroe or a pedders without the price tag of a bilstein or a koni. Their been on the car now for near 7yrs and never had a problem and still giving the same road feel.
Another +1 for KYB. I've been very impressed, they're a great shock.
I got mine off GSL Rallysport (Site Sponsor). Great to do business with.
after recent experiences with pedders im pretty happy and im on super lows, however you sound like your after a bit more performance then me.
Contact GSL Rallysport mate. Just send them a PM. There are different ranges of KYB, the entry range is the Excel range I think. They'll give you great prices, plus KYB are very well priced anyway.
For VT onwards I think you'd be looking at around $65-$70 each for rear for KYB Excels, maybe $90-$100 for fronts. Plus shipping from GSL. Thats a rough guide.
Will docheers vn2vn. Do they do pretty much everything suspension related? may aswell get everything from them
I was looking at the KYB AGX'S for the front and i dunno, just shorterned shocks for the back, depending on the price.

Wow KYB certainly adjusted to the times. Mine were just boring old grey/silver coloured back in the day. Those your looking at Banks def look the part. If they still build them like they used to you wont be disappointed.
Yep, the KYB are a very good, very well priced shock. As far as I'm concerned, where KYB do a shock, Pedders, Monroe, Gabriel, etc. don't even exist... The only times I'd go another shock over KYB in the cheap price range, would be a Boge where someone has a super low car, as is concerned about ride quality. Boge do a shortened front shock, where KYB don't. This is only for super low applications, otherwise std front KYB and shortened rear KYB is more than enough...
However.... For VZ Ute, KYB don't do rears, and in super low like you're after, I would go go the Boge on the front as its a shorter shock (25mm), and OzTec shortened rear.
The Boge front are $151 each, and the OzTec Rears are $110 each, which I know is a fair way above the KYB pricing, but in this particular case (VZ Ute with super lows), its definately the best way to go with Super Lows. If it was just lows, I'd say the KYB's are fine in the front, and we can probably match up a wagon or other ute shock to suit the rear in KYB, but I know the OzTec's work really well so that's what we've sold previously for this application and had no dramas at all.
Cheers,
Greg

Sick of paying too much for high performance brake pads? Want high performance and cold bite with low rotor wear?

sorry to hijack the thread but i have a vt with ssl's all round and its pretty bouncy wat would u recomend for the rear? same type of deal? also how much is ir roughly for getting these fitted?
Yep, again with the SSL's I'd take Boge over the KYB as its a significantly shorter body (60mm). Lows or Super Lows the KYB are great, but past that you're pushing it.
Anyway, Boge rears to suit VT-VY are $66 (RRP $88), and I'm pretty sure I can fit a pair in a 5kg satchel, so shipping on the pair to Vic would only be $12.
Fitting, dunno, whatever standard workshop rates are, or even have a crack yourself.

is that 66 for the pair or each mate? and will they stiffen up the rear much?
$66 each. Stiff probably isn't the word to describe it, but it will control the spring better.

ah k i need the car to hold the road a little better its all over the place atm
KYB don't do an AGX for the VZ because the sway bar link mount is different... but we've got a conversion kit for it so that we can sell just normal KYB for VZ.
The AGX's themselves are $270 each, plus $33 each for the link conversion kits, so all up, not cheap!
For the rears unfortunately Boge don't do any of the Ute rears. Have you already got the springs?

So AGX's are possible on the front, All up $540 + $66 (conversion kits) + $springs
No i havent got the springs as of yet, i was going the lovells compared with kings because of the warranty really. Nothing else. What would you recommend for a good setup in the rear for the VZ utes?
How much are the whiteline 30mm fully adj front and 18mm adj rear swaybars?
Re-read all the posts just then, i was actually working today so i was kinda skipping parts of posts lol From what i read KYB AGX's cant be installed in the VZ ute range, but theres a conversion kit for the standard KYB's is that right? or am i just confusing myself here
Im looking at spending about $1000-$1200 all up, i dont really care what brand shocks springs etc, i just want a front and rear whiteline adjustable bars and nolathene bushes replacing ALL of the standard ones.
somewhere around troy's ride height and ill be running 19" wheels when funds permit. But i want the front adjustable because i do plan on having some track days at queensland racewaythats why i was interested in the agx's. I've thought about going the whole hog and getting teins but i dont have that much money just to spend on suspension. I've got to do the brakes aswell
lol
