Gday all. first time poster and holden owner.
I've recently picked up a 96 VS thats been convereted to a 1 tonne ute and the rear diff is a lower ratio (don't ask me all the details bout that yet, i'm still to get details on that myself) Anyhow, the engine has had a bit of a life (used to recovery jobs at a trucking mob) and i want to do a transplant on it. My initial thoughts are either a super6 from a VS-VT or look for a much newer engine like a VX-VY. I want some thing that will be almost a straight fit with minimal fuss and wanted to know if some of the newer motors could do this.
vs to vy v6's are the same so they will all bolt in fine, you could also go the super6 from the vs to vy aswell,
also the 5 litre v8s will bolt in, but best sticking to vs or vt series 1,(after that they went to the gen3 which would be a hassles putting in)
so basicly your best bet would be just get a newer v6 with lower K's,
although saying all that is it worth putting a newer motor in it??, like does it need it yet??, i know a few commies over 400thou and still goin strong.
