Just wanted to get a general idea of what some of you guys are paying for insurance and who with? And how much it raises as you add modifications(like stereos, rims, non stock lights etc)?

$66 with suncorp full comp v6 calais market value extractors CAI and soon to add stereo![]()
$38 a month.... Third party fire and theft with RACV, valued at 2 or 3 grand lol. No mods, only stereo (200) and tinted windows. Im only 17, and I MUST have someone sitting next to me who is over 25 or insurance isnt valid, which is a big pain in the ass caus mum refuses to go in my car caus shes stuck up haha.
$66? i think u meant 660?
right now, im payn $400 with AAMI, 3rd party fire and theft (rating 2), but as of Friday i will Full comp with Racv (will become rating 1), and it will be 128 per month for the first year, then after than it shall be around $700 each year, (rating 1) Im only doing it monthly as i didnt have the 1k cash sitting around.
AAMI would only accept one mod (lower or exhaust)
Racv, wsnt fussed what mods i have. and insured it for more than AAMI.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Yeh im leaning towards racv, looks like il have to give em a call as the online quotes wont work with mods. What would you recommend for an 02 VX, ~$2k stereo, $2k rims, GTO bonnet, non stock tail lights, custom leather interior?

and another thing, AAMI would NOT match the price of Racv.. which i was pised off abt, as my dad has been with aami for 20+ yrs, and ive been with them for 5 or so yrs.
For those mods ive got no idea, what rating are u atm? and age ? im only 23.
oh my bad, didnt relise per month.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
$481 with AAMI, rims stereo tint exhaust lowered doesnt raise the premium at all. 19yr old driver car insured for $10,000

rating 3 with aami, 21y.o but only hav 3rd party, jus kinda did a chunk of work on my car though so thought i might up it to full comp.

My name full comp no windscreen cover (without excess) no choice of repairer. Wesfarmers were $431 but had a $1200 excess. AAMI have a $400 plus $500 age excess so 900 hung all up.
EDIT: SGIC were $540 last year for me full comp but this year they went to $720 so i switched. SGIC wouldnt match AMMI

yeh i was expecting that, one of my mates said he just raised the excess up to like $2k or something (i dont kno a heck of alot bout insurance obviously) and said its way cheaper annually. i understand that if im in an accident i hav 2 pay that before they cover it but im yet to be in one yet and think id put up wit payin that if i caused an accident

I forget the breakdown, but my car VZ Wagon $22,000 (24 years old, previous suspension due to unpaid fine) and Craig's 97 VT (36 clean record) with mod's agreed value of $10k, $105 per month through QBE, free 14 day car hire & unlimited windscreens.
I pay a $400 age excess.
I pay around $66 a month with RACV my premium is $400 standard plus $500 for being under 25 im on full comp and am rating one.
RACV have been good to me so far, they let you choose a repairer, etc, etc.

$700 full comp with Just Cars, which covers my stroker, supercharger, wheels, bodykit and stereo
The only catch is, its insured for 7k![]()

As a 20yr old, I pay $400 a year third party fire and theft on my V8 Statesman. That's going through Comminsure (Commonwealth Bank) for convenience rather than bothering to shop around. Doesn't get much cheaper anyway. That's on a clean driving record with no prior accidents at my fault.

$597 a year for $25,500. Includes hire car and windscreen option. Age has its advantages.
$700 a year.
I'm...err....over 25 and rating 1 forever.
Justcars usually blows anyone else out of the water for young drivers, with performance cars.
RACV are very competitive, as our AAMI.

Karma with Silver Track Stripes.
20" VE GTS.

I wouldnt touch JustCars with my insurance with a 10 foot cannon exhuast. I pay 50 a month full comp, however i havent told them ive lowered the car or put an exhuast on so lets just hope that doesnt come up.
3k a year, full comp. they dont know about the mods yet.... exhaust, lowered, stereo.![]()
RACV wanted to charge me 2G a year for full comp on a 5G car... their reasons...
I'm under 25, I have a d!ck and my car is a sports car because it has a coupe and a grand totla of 83kw at the fly...
Have you tried shannons?
some places didnt ask for my driving history or for any mods done to the car. When i said its lowered exhaust rims stereo they said that didnt come into consideration, this is with AMMI. But placed like ian berry wouldnt touch me becuase it was lowered more than 1.2 inches
