Hey, i think its time 4 an exhaust to be added to my ride, i was youtubing along and came across this
YouTube - VX Commodore V6 exhaust
How much $$ would i be looking for something similar? And what are options for dual exhaust? The video link commy has stated their exhaust has Pacemaker extractors into twin cats, custom built Y piece into Magnaflow center hotdog, single 2.5" into Magnaflow rear muffler + tips.

Why would you want it to sound like that? Sounds bloody terrible.
I'd put aside at least $1500.

this cost me $350 mate, dont waste all that money on a v6 exhaust becuase all your paying for is the sound. a $1500 exhaust might get you 3rwkw more which is pointless.

For a V6 you dont need a dual exhuast, you shouldnt really get anything over 2 and a half inch single, unless your going forced induction then you may need something around the 3 inch.
The simple 2 and a half all the way through with no rear resi does the trick on V6's and it will cost you around the 250-300 dollar mark which usually includes a tip.
For a v6 anything of that nature is just plain overkill.
V8 FTW!! Don't think i could ever go back to driving a V6 again.
Plus on a V6 when you open up the exhuast too much you loose low down power.
yeh its not so much for the performance side, more for sound (and visual with the dual) so i wasnt so worried about whether dual was pointless, just wanted to kno if it was do-able. it just seems everyones got a 2.5 catback system, im very open to recommendations though..i just thought that 1st vid the note was a little higher and didnt mind it thats all..Im aware im driving an ecotec v6, not a v8, and i dont mind if it doesnt grumble like a v8 i just wanted something a little nicer than what i hav.

It ****s me that people say "get a V8" when ever someone wants to improve the sound of a V6. Most people will agree that a V8 sounds better than V6, but this is about making a V6 sound better in the owners opinion, it's got **** all to do with trying to make it sound like a V8.
It's all about what you like visually and audibly, a car that is revved while stationary isn't anything to go by as they sound completely different under load. Find something that you like and go with it. Who cares what other people think.
all i was trying to do was save this bloke $1200 on stuff he doesnt need. A V6 sounds fine with just cat back. Unless he is going into some serious power hungry mods then its just a waste. Im sure in a few years he will either look back and say, jeez im glad i didnt spend 1500 on a exhaust for my v6. That extra 1200 could be used so much more wisely

You would have to spend a lot more than $1500 on a V6 to make it quick. Lets be honest, a V6 isn't a powerhouse engine. If he wants to spend that sort of money to make it sound the way he wants, good luck to him.
A lot of people could look back in a few years and say "geez, I wish I didn't spend $3000 on that computer"....each to there own.

Wasn't havin a go at you mate, people just need to respect other peoples choices. Offering advice is all we can do, when people bag others because they didn't "get a V8" it just ****s me. I suppose I'm a purist, make the best of what you have, don't get a penis extension because it's "cool".
Alcohol and logic don't mix...I've said enough me thinks...
guys seems as though this is an exhaust thread i might just jump in and ask: is it possible to add a silencer to an exhaust so that you dont always have to rumble the entire world?
