Default Some advice would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum, so please excuse my possible ignorance. I know that i'm not able to place an ad to sell my car here (which i understand) but i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of the best way to sell my car?

I've got an ad on ebay and carsales, is it worth putting an ad in the trading post too?

Just so you know, i *do* have a Commodore A VY. I don't want to put any other details as I don't want to get into trouble for trying to do the sneaky sell.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated, even if it's to say "yep, that's all you can do".

I'm relocating permanently to Melbourne and won't need Peaches (my car) down there, i really don't want to sell her, but i'd rather she find a good home than sit collecting dust, but with the market the way it is, i'm a little worried.

    Thanks in advance,

    K

There actually is a cars for sale forum where u can post according to the template set by the guys at JC in the main section, how much are you looking for for the VY? I think your best bet is carsales if you hav a competitive price you should have no problems..providing its in decent condition

    Hi Matt,

Thanks so much for the reply!

I've read the guidelines and i don't have enough posts or enough time as a member to post in that forum, unfortunately. My car is in excellent condition, and has had a bit of bodywork, etc done. I've really looked after her, and like i said, i'm sad to let her go.

I've got a pretty competitive price on there for her: $17000 (neg).

If you'd like to see it, you can message me and i'll send you the carsales and ebay listings, I just don't want to get in strife here for posting against guidelines (i hope i haven't breached any by saying the above! Apologies, if I have)

    Hi again,

I was hoping that someone who knows more than me about all things Holden could tell me what a competitive price might be? It has extras such as sports suspension and exhaust, 18 inch rims, an S pack and the car's condition is excellent - it's not a base model so I would think that would make a difference in what I might get?

I've also just placed an ad in the Trading Post (online and print).

I would really appreciate it, as i'm moving soon and would like the best chance at selling my car before I move.

    Thanks again.

    It's an Exec, 98000km, red, v6.

I really don't want to get into trouble for posting this stuff as i'm aware of the conditions of this site, but i just really want to get my car sold.

It's just confusing because on carsales, the price differences are pretty large, so i don't know what a good average price is. Some people with cars that (from the ads) don't look as good are asking more than what I am...

    *sigh*

If you are in no rush to sell it, put the price a little higher than you would expect to sell it for and drop it over a few weeks/months till you start getting interest. Also it's important to have great photos of it, especially of the panels to show that there are no dents or damage. All the best with the sale!

Thanks so much for all the info, but i'm moving in about 2 weeks, so it's really important that i sell it soonish, otherwise i'll look at shipping it down there, but i'd rather sell it up here, as i believe the prices i'd get for it up here are better than down south? I also won't have anywhere to store her down there, and nowhere up here either.

But again, thanks so much for the replies, i really do appreciate it
