il put the poll out would u rather buy a bog stock car lil modified or fully worked if u where to purchase a different car.
i prefer 2 buy bog stock so u can do it up urself but if u get a good deal with the stuff already there is it worth payn that lil bit more but trusting the previous owner is the problem 4 me as u never know if they have cut short cuts etc to save cost

My VS, VB and Subaru were all bog stock when I bought them which is they way I like to buy cars.
My VL was lowered and had a sports steering wheel when I bought it but that was all. The VN was lowered though with an exhaust and window tint and some crappy speakers. But I changed all that anyway.
Id prefer bog stock so i have that sense of self satisfaction when your doing up your own car. However if it had the basics like a exhuast i wouldnt say no.
my vk i bought i was a lil modified, my vp was bog stock n my vx had a few mods like exhuast,lowered,tint....saved me a few k so simple things like that i dont mind...
yeah bog stock or lil modded, exhaust, wheels and tint.
Chev badges are an instant fail
Stock as a rock but well looked after. If it's modded (exhaust/lowered) then it's probably been hooned.
Definately stock for me.
yeh seems pretty clear that most people prefer bog stock i dont trust anythign unless its got receipts id rather get it all done myself

I went for a little modified, a few things I don't mind as they can be money/time savers in the future, a heavily modified car can bring too many issues with it and people who have spent allot of money and time on working a car to within an inch of its life generally want the world for it too.
ive only ever bought 3 cars in my life, two where dead stock, one was pretty modified - nothing crazy, but alot of money spent on it.
the VP which i bought which was modified was by far the in the best mechanical condition and i never really spent anything on it beside services and tyres, etc..
the other two, a VN and my current VS which were both stock when i bought them i had to spend quite a bit on them to get up to scratch - particularly in the suspension department where it was clear no one had replaced bushes and shocks under there for years...
i think what im saying is that if you get a modified car, as least you know the owner actually spent money on the damn thing and was probably keeping it in very good condition because they liked the car (think about alot of the people on this forum for instance). where-as if its stock and the owner just didnt care about it, it was just a mode of transport them, then its likely they only did the bare minimum in terms of keeping it mechanically sound.
hope that makes sence - ofcourse there is always exceptions to this.
i think the comments about buying a modified car being a bad choice or that they're thrashed or a lemon are pretty stereotypical thoughts and incorrect statements in the majority of cases.
Quagmire: My fellow Americans, I have not been entirely truthful with you. I did gagoogidy that girl. I gashmoygadied her gaflavity with my googus. And I am sorry.

im with you there at least check engine for the norm things and dont flog the ass out off it for the first cupple of weeks and get a feel for the noises it makes
i never said they were bad i just said i wouldnt buy it as i would be 2 scared of somthing gone wrong ur right though people do look after em more but the more u play around with the car the more things are going 2 go wrong

Never bought or owned a car in my life (yet), but I'd prefer to buy a car stock and do it up myself - that way it'll be done to my taste, and I'll know its been done properly.![]()

I went for halfway.
I got my VT Calais with lowered suspension, tint, redback exhaust and it was done exactly they way I would have done it. It sounds nice, not over the top, is lower but still usable over a speed hump and the tint is just right for me.
I think if small mods is done to the car thats fine, just make sure it isn't done with cheap rubbish and the service history is o.k.

I have a VZ and a VL which i purchased off my younger bro about a month ago. My VZ is bog stock apart from the wheels and thats how i plan to keep it at this point in time and my VL has a few dodgy mods done to it from when my brother had it . but for 500 bucks with six months rego and 4 new tires i can't complain![]()
prefer to buy em stock and KEEP them stock.
Some people go way over the top when modding cars and i just cant comprehend there reasons.
After all, the bottom line is that they are just commodores.
stock, gives u a clean canvas to play with
