diff dumping exhaust is it illegal

looking at cutting my exhaust short and turning it into a diff dumper but unsure as to weather its legal or not.
any1 know weather or not i can legally do this know my hj has diff dumpers and is legal but it was like that since way back when and is considered original so had no problem when getting it roadworthy'd

its legal if its within the required db, i think its 90db at 3000rpm...
and also you are only allowed to have the end if the exhaust 30cm from the last door...

Pretty sure it has to be a certain distance passed the last exit/opening of the car to be legal.
Not sure if it will be or not, im sure if a cop wanted to he would ping you for it anyway
