OK GOT AN EMAIL FROM CHANEL 9 TODAY HERE IT IS....can you guys tell me what you think...
Dear Maree,
Chanel 9 would like to do a film story about you and other female drivers in your club showing off your driving skills and how you can drive just as well as men.
I gather some of the skills you can illustrate are drifting, showing how you control a car in burn outs, showing how you control a car when driving at speed.
The venue that is available for filming on Saturday 6th September is Thunderdome raceway at Calder Park.
We would like to know if you and say another 5 female drivers would be available for filming on that day.
With best wishes,
Andrea

So how many of those listed skills are you confident at performing? You and your girlfriends dignity is at stake.
that would be nuts to go out on a track! would it be worth ch9 making you look like a hoon??
yeh she called me about it and told me she will send me an email so i may forward it to other femal drivers....
im not sure what to do.. thats why i need some other opinions...
and with the skills, i am confident but not as skilled as i would of liked to be she said she would show each female for the skills they are most confident in, for me it would be high speed driving and for my friend her's would be drifting
I'm a bit sceptical about Channel Nine's reporting integrity these days. While you and your friends might have a great time "performing for the cameras", who knows how it might end up being edited and presented on tv? You could end up being portrayed as female hoons (whatever they are called). Channel Nine seems to like sensationalism in its current affairs shows these days. I think I'd want to discuss the show beforehand and have some sort of written undertaking about the nature of the show and the manner in which it was to be presented.
I think the researcher needs to learn how to spell their employers name properly before they go doing some one-sided report.
Looks like Ch9 is setting someone up here for a "Oh My God how did that happen" - I didn't say that.....

i would be nervous lol but once i get comfortable and forget their there lol it should be all good
hmmmmm keep the opinions coming guys they are helping![]()
They have to release the story to those involved prior to air when requested so they cant really shaft you. Im sure theres a few guys that will act as doubles![]()
Risk either way.... Do it and there is a chance they are going to make you look like a hoon, or bad driver, start the whole male drivers V female driver debate all over the place or don't do it and miss out and have to sit back and watch other females do it and have a load of fun.
I say bugger it, you only live once and if it goes bad everyone will forget about it when the next hoon story comes along anyways lol.
Not always the case, I did a recording with TT in regards to a daycare center mistreating my son and I also requested to see it before it went to air to decide if it was going to look good or bad and they said no, you have to sign an agreement before any recording is done which allows them to use it, or any footage from it for the story or any possible future stories. I swiftly found a way out of it after the center and I settled privately. They have to release the story to those involved prior to air when requested so they cant really shaft you. Im sure theres a few guys that will act as doubles
Contact someone at the track to see if the booking is legit.
other ppl have made some suggestions on how we should go about this interview which i agree on, like making up a contract stating that they will not put a negative light on us in any way possible and not to portray us as anything but skilled safe drivers... also we will be filming the interview aswell so nothing can be cut or edited in a way which would reflect badly upon us....
which i thought was a good idea
THEY are asking you to participate in their interveiw/article. I would imagine that if you rocker up and start saying they you will only do it if the agree terms and conditions they will tell you to get stuffed. The person doing the story probably has a prior motive and they will stick to it no matter what your thoughts are on the matter and if they can not meet their objectives my guess is that they are likely to can the whole story.
well if thats the case then it would be a no go then if they are not willing to comprimise i dont see the point...
also someone gave me another opinion about they will interview me and show my car. then they do the 'talk to an expert' bit where they show a roadworthy expert/cop looking at footage pointing out what's wrong with my car and my driving.
which was a great point
If you do go ahead with the interview then just make sure you say....:I DONT CONDONE HOONING, WE GIRLS SAVE IT ALL FOR THE TRACK ECT ECT(and make sure that gets aired! tell them its what you want AS A REQUIREMENT TO DOING THE INTERVIEW) Chances are they wont air it, but if they dont then you have a leg 2 stand on and all ya have 2 do (if they make you out to be hoons ect) is walk across the street to TT (there always looking for stones 2 throw @ ACA) and say how they tried to destroy your reputations and put across a false message to the general public (they lied 2 the general public that sort of thing ect) and nail em in court for some cash
But with all that said you are doing this stuff @ a proper raceway, so your still in the clear![]()

The first feeling i got from reading it is not a good one. Knowing ACA and their "morals" they will probally use the footage in an up and comming hoon article.
Exactly what is the whole point of this anyway? Is it to try to show that girls can drive cars just as hard as guys? You will not prove anything towards the arguement of 'we drive just as good as guys' because you are not doing anything in a real world situation. The image you will portray is that you are a hoon, despite the fact you are doing all of this on a closed track. The general public will look at you and go 'yep, i bet she does that on the street too'.
H
onestly, I don't see the point. You are just adding fuel to the fire in my opinion.
see this is exactly why i asked for opinions thank youi needed to see another light on the subject
well i wanted to show that not everyone in to cars are hoons and are dangerous on the roads and that we dont actuallly condone "hooning" on the streets
