Alarms?!

Hey i tried searching but found nothing on this subject.

Do you guys have an alarm on your car? How much, where did you get it?

I'm only getting one to get my insurance down as much as possible, and would like to know what the best option is as far as the factory central locking (pressing 2 buttons could get annoying).


Been looking at JB hifi, they're like $100 for just an alarm and then another ~150 to get it installed, and if you're an unco when it comes to electronics like me then that's the only option.

btw my insurance is 120 (p/month) without an alarm and 85 with, so i'll get my money back either way.

ive got an viper alarm system on mine...cost me over $1000 and does everything starts my car for me tells me when sum1 is braking in...the lot

if it's only for insurance sake then try ebay. Then pay somebody to install. You're bound to save some money that way.

I paid about $150 for mine off ebay. It's got a remote start key and a engine cut key (u can switch the engine off if someone stole the car lol). Only thing you gotta watch out for is that you have black wiring (australian insurance standards), I didn't realise that when I got mine and I've got coloured ones, just wrapped black tape over it and its fine XD. It's got a pager etc so it's decent. Have a look around.
