GM keep lying, people keep buying !

As some of you may know already, GM is the biggest thief in the world

they sell cars with different names to different countries, and call it marketing

and it's OK really, But WHY Oh WHY do they change the model ??

since this is a Holden forum I'll only talk about those cars ..

in the year 2000, GM started selling Holden cars in the middle east as chevy

people loved their cars, and people kept on buying ..

I think they sell more Holdens out of Australia

as for the Commodore, they NEVER presented any car with a different

Transmission other than the 4-speed auto (4l60E) ,WHY ?

and now in the VE models, in 2007 they only sold 4-speed auto and

6-speed manual, and they sold quit good ...

Yesterday, I visited a chevy showroom (UMA)to see the "New" VE SS

for the first look, I thought they finally decided to sell the SSV here ..

as the new car had the same tail lights, I took a look inside, and I was

Shocked !, it's just a regular VE SS (no screen or gauges) , BUT with a 5-speed auto !

I'm not good at the marketing stuff, but if they sold the 6-speed auto and the SSV here, they would sell better

I missed the part where they lied and were also caught being thiefs? They marketed a "VE SS" and it wasn't an SSV. They sell it as a Chevrolet, when it is owned by GM anyway and that is the brand the Middle East are familiar with... And they sold it with a 5spd auto? So one gear is added or stolen depending on where you're coming from.

maybe they dont have the support over there to service the 6 speed autos, or parts would cost too much to service them? im sure they have reasons for it.

everyone want the best stuff, but all we get is the Base model stuff

plus, they should stop selling it as chevy , everyone just keep changing the badges and the grills to holden once

everyone just keep screaming : We Want real Holden, but we get nothing

no wonder they are going out of business

It wouldn't help a bit - most people over there have likely never heard of Holden. Its a bit like saying that the Holden Astra here should be sold as an Opel or Vauxhall instead of a Holden. Holden is the "known" GM brand here, so it makes better marketing sense to sell it as a Holden instead.

Thats is the exact reason why they do it.

QUestion answered. As for the trasnmission, they sell it with a 4 speed because thats obviously what their market research told them would be best for the target market.

Mate, if you wanted the best stuff you wouldn't be buying Holden.

Over here, they are affordable as the local industry is protected from outsiders. Thats why imported cars are so expensive here, and why everyone turns to Holden or Ford for their V8 fix.

Affordable? Yes.

The best? No.

There should be a website set up where people can just do clean swaps, Chev for Holden and Holden for Chev

If you are talking generally about US companies like GM and Ford doing it tought, its because they are struggling to pay the bills for their extensive health care pension plans for ex employees.

I did read GM is trying to negotiate with the auto workers union to scrap the post retirement health plans, as it will be crucial in the financial survival of the company.

and ppl like us only want a RWD V8

Nissan made a BIG mistake making the new Altima a FWD ....
