it seems to me that there's alot of people dreaming when it comes to selling their cars
im seeing people in various places (internet, trading post, etc) trying to sell their vts with body kits for 15+g hahaha
there are some delusional people out there
Almost as bad as those dreamers tryin to buy VT's for 2 grand![]()
i have seen 2 vt over the last year going for 2500 but hey probley wont see that again lol bummer should have brought one then. grrrr
lmao, I was watching a guy trying to sell a VX Calais 6 for almost as much as I'd sell my senator for. Are people really that clueless?

Well not always...people are sometimes stupid enough to pay the price. Guy I know just paid 20k for a VS GTS, that is utter supidity, considering on the same day his brother bought a VX R8 22k...i know which car i'd take and it certainly isnt the ugly, fat, slow GTS.

^^ yeah good for you. a gts is probably worth half that

i know a guy that thinks his vx clais super6 is worth $29k, i laughed,
even recently i looked at some vs commodores and there are some asking up to $9k for nothing special
well farw enough if the car has sat in your shead for the last 10 years and clocked up less than 20,000 kms and still has that new car smell. then you might get 15 20 grand for it... but up here in the N.T we get ripped off... the price for an advrage vt v6 with lets say 150,000 is around 7 to 9 G's depending on the condition of course.... ive even seen vt ss's go for as much as 13,000.. but the stuped thing is you can pick up a base modle v6 vy/vz for the same amont of money with less kms on it... and in heaps better condition. some people are dreaming when it comes to car prices... or they just dnt have a clue. but i have to say if you are from down south i.e sa nsw qld wa you will get a much better deal then up in the nt.![]()
i agree with minux, i always advertise my car for a few weeks at above the standard asking price, because chances are there is someone silly enough to buy it from you at that price. i guess it all depends on whether you need it sold quickly or not.
As someone looking for a car, i can tell you now its getting ri-goddamn-diculous when its coming to car prices. Little dungers with 250,000kms and rust and people want 4-6k for them.
Ill keep looking as i have a habit of snaring a gem on the cheap, but people are trying to make money back on cars and are getting greedy.
Dont get me wrong, im not looking for a Vy for 2k sort of bargain bin job, but ive found 12 cars this week where people have priced them out of a sale just because they have been stupid with the cost.
I knew a bloke who had his HQ 1 tonner up for 6.5k it looked ok (home spray job still some rust and a dinged door) and had a fully rebuilt engine (V8) in it, blah blah blah. someone said to me, He doesn't really want to sell the car, if someone gives him the 6.5k he'll be happy, otherwise he doesn't care either way.
I'd say that's what most of these people are doing.
Dont know if a lot of sellers are clueless to theyre cars value.
The Car/s were probably bought on a 5yr finance to start with so need to be sold to cover what they owe the bank/instituion.
Its getting ridiculous, im not going to be tight and ill pay good coin if a car warrants it, but there are some serious pieces of garbage on 4 wheels worth maybe 1k tops and people are asking for 6-10k for it.
It started at heaps now down to 12 and i still wouldnt pay that.
Seen a few VTs for 8 with low KMs and SS bodykit so the difference would be the bonnet which isnt worth 3k extra.
And considering ive seen some VT Clubbys for 12k, a V6 wannabe wouldnt cut it personally.
Still on the hunt for a car as it is.
Well i payed under 9k for my VT Clubby and i know of a VTSS gen3 with 150,000(one owner)that will be sold for about 10k.its still on its second set of tyres and stock as a rock.
I depends on where you live. Here in SA a VT executive would still be worth around 6-9k. You can find one for 5k if you look hard enough but it would be very run down with high kms.
Never be afraid to try new things; remember amateurs build the ark while professionals build the Titanic.
Some ppl get lucky too, when ppl dont know the true value of their car. My son bought a VT HSV Enhanced (not HSV but Holden Dealer enhaced with origional HSV equipment) its a Calais with full options Leather and stuff, 115,00 Ks very good condition $6500
Damn now that is pretty lucky, today i found a stock VT series 1 exec for the same price with 210,000kms.
Ill just hold my money and keep looking, i need a car but i wont be stupid about it, and some people just dont understand that there are few cars in the world that you can buy that will be able to be sold later on for what they paid.
Just out of interest, where do people look for their next car? Im looking for Clubby's now and ive used carsales till death. Ive looked at the trading post a bit, but other than that where else should i be looking for these deals?
