whats your price range?
hey mate lol i forgot to write it in my price range is 10,000 either 10,000 on a ute with gas or 8,000 on a ute and then 2,000 t convert it
do not buy a vs ute due to it being a styleside as it will get ****ed. I have a vz s ute and im a plasterer and im always putting scratches on the tailgate and on the side of the ute that the toolbox is on. Go for the au due to the trayback aspect.

fitzy that was one of the main reasons i liked the au, the only thing is ford allways have something wrong with em lol
my mate got an AU ute when he started his business, he is holden boy at heart, but the AU ute on gas does exactly what he wants and it costs bugger all to run + you can claim unlimited gas or a percentage of it anyway.
i own a vr ute 5speed with a bench seat and the company i work for give me a brand new bf tray back ute its a pile of crap just as well i dont pay for fuel as the pile of snot will only do 500k on $110 worth of fuel and me old vr will do the same klm's on $65
ok thanks fellers seems strange to have a ford recomended on a holden sight lol but thanks heaps fellers! do ya reckon ill get a pretty decent au manual for 10,000?
Have a look on car sales. I would definatly say alloy tray FTW at work. Plus fords seem to be reliable on gas if thats what you want
Mate look at a tray back Hi-lux ute I had on when I was doing my trade it was a great car. It might seem strange that people from here would suggest a ford but lots of the people are tradies and been there with utes before. I would be looking at a tray ute.
thanks guys, I was ooking at hiluxs but there just not my cup of tea think il go for an au with a tray atr least that way there is no issues with backing into stuff aswell
Why see if you can pick up a BFII and lease it? I've seen them pretty cheap plus it is a tax write off
i thort of doind something like but the size of the debt isnt to apealing, speshly the amount of interest ud hav to pay
Did you think of leasing it? It is a way better option then getting a straight out loan.
actually i remember seeing on carsales you can pick up a ba trayback for around 14gs

thanks for all the help, how does a lease work mate? if i got one does that it isnt mine until ive paid it off? And do they have mega interest? by the way i am looking for a 6 since im a p plater so 8s are out of the question cus of them stupid new rules,
Basiclly you pay a residual at the end of the lease to OWN the car or you trade it. The residual is usually 15% of the purchase price, but it can be negotiated to be more or less. It brings the repayments down but there is the final payment at the end. Honestly, it usually works in your favour because most people can trade the car for more then the residual and you put the extra money as a deposit on a new car.
Here is an example. I have no idea what intrest rates are on loans so I just used 15%
Loan amount: $20,000.00
Term: 5 years
Residual: $6,000.00
Interest rate: 15.00 %
Monthly repayment: $360.30 (plus GST of $36.03)
Loan amount: $20,000.00
Term: 5 years
Residual: $0.00
Interest rate: 15.00 %
Monthly repayment: $427.20 (plus GST of $42.72)

be smart and get a hilux, trust me!
compare the mechanical problems you'll have with a hilux of that price range, to a commodore/falcon of the same price.
toyota's just keep going and very rarely have any mechanical issues
everyone of my friends and workmates who own or have owned holdens, have had problems. those that drive toyota's.... nothing!
