lower springs, stiffer shocks, bigger sway bars, urethane or at least new rubber bushes, etc.

probably because prebought stuff is too dear for some people.

but with access to a welder and grinder, i was able to make a set with adjustable shocks for under $1000(minus labour and strut tops)

coilover sleeves and spring tops = $160 from uk
    350lb 8" springs = $150 from uk
koni adjsutable front strut inserts = $600(i think retails around that) from toperformance

swap out the adjustables and you'll save a few dollars. welding wasnt much involved, just welding the threaded sleeve to the strut housing, and i got shorter strut inserts, so theres a weld join hidden under the sleeve.

    damn, you make those? nice

i know you can buy a kit somewhere in aus to convert standard struts to coil over much like in the pic above. not cheap though. can't beat a coil over setup for handling

sorry to hijack but why do coilovers handle better than a standard setup?
obviously its the design but what part of it makes it superior?
