    Default .:Real Machine:.

Ok... just abit bored at work so I decided to start a thread that people can describe their ideal "Real Machine". Now this is not to be confused with "Dream machine".

The difference (FYI it is actually just a term I made up :P) between a"Real Machine" and a "Dream machine" is that a "Real machine" is a car that you want that is feasible rather than a wicked car that you probably will only dream about and never buy/build.

It doesn't HAVE to be a holden i guess but would be better since this is a Holden site.

Anyway! I figured this could be a interesting way to see what people's ideas are and what sort of direction people prefer in their cars.

So hear goes and I'm fully aware this thread could be a COMPLETE and utter flop.

    Jesterarts Real Machine

    MODEL: Holden VU SS
    COLOUR: Black
    ENGINE: LS1 5.7
    DRIVELINE: Manual

ENGINE MODS: Sureflo OTRCAI + 2.5 twin exhaust, lumpy cam, mafless tune.
DRIVELINE MODS: Textralia Z-Grip clutch, 3.9 LSD
INTERIOR MODS: Black leather everywhere, black guage face with white numbers, short shifter, Double DIN GPS, CD, DVD etc in one.
EXTERIOR MODS: Darkest legal tint, debadge everything but the holden badge, black LED taillight, black projector headlight, tint repeaters, tint foglights, smooth hardlid. Also getting the VY grill into the VU front bar would be sweet.
RIMS: VZ R8 rims powdercoated black with a orange wall on the tyres
SUSPENSION MODS: Lowered with SSL front and some airbags in the back (the new drop in ones that you can pump up from a tyre station) so i can still use it for carrying stuff in the back... but have it low fow cruising round

    OVERVIEW:
I've basically been planning this car since i sold HCV aka Nikki aka my silver vx s-pack .

I think this would be very much a love it hate it car without any middle ground considering it would be black on black on black with a few orange accents here and there (like the limited edition Toll HSV Dealer Team Clubsport).

The rims are obviously going to be VZ R8 copies as I woudln't want to wreck genuine HSV rims. I was originally thinking black rims with a chrome lip and the orange wall but decided the chrome lip would take away from the contrast of the orange wall.

I'm hoping to get this car started on my 25th b'day (in 2 years) once I have a house and garage to put it in.

Basically just going to be a weekender... So when i'm driving around my POS runabout I an content in the knowledge that I have something cool in the garage.

Hopefully if i get really bored one day soon I will photoshop a image so i can see roughly how my idea will work.

    Anyway, thats my "Real Machine".

Comment or use my post as a template and share with the rest of us your ideas for your..... "Real Machine"

    Cheers!

Id go a chevy suburban, if i couldn't get an 05 model id settle for an old 1999/98

5.7L V8 in the older one or the 8.2L V8 in the 05 model

black exterior with dark tint, i just like them as a car, to me they have a mean sort of appeal.

Yeah... i was thinking... pub or general... wrong choice i guess.

Also... with this thread I'd be happier if people elaborated more on their ideas, gave more specifics and reasons for their choices rather than just short one liners just saying "I want this car".

For example... why a chevy suburban? whats the appeal? would you do anything to it or keep it a stocker?

    Thanks.

i kinda like my car right now. it looks ok and goes pretty hard. but really does need a cam to make it more to my liking. Once i get that in and some leather ill be pretty happy with it. Nothing to flash just a nice cruiser that can run a low 12's at the strip.

^^^ what year charger? with a bug catcher on the blower? color?

Yeah, your car is pretty nice johnvtls1, a leather interior would be sweet. That one thing i will HAVE to have in once i get my ute. Althogh I'm strongly considering not using real leather but this vynal/leather fake stuff that is apparently really tough plus it looks and feel the part.

A mate got me onto it but I've forgotten what its called exactly

I want the 2006 torana concept cous it would suit me for day to day driving...
Not only does it have 5 seats and is a small car but it packs a woppin v8 under that little bonnet.
Also cous its so rare to see one nowdays
not like the old sunbirds which i see everywhere. the only true toranas ive seen lately are the slr's which look old now and im a modern kinda man

At the moment im still really liking my clubby. But would love the blower on running 14psi with a 355 stroker to back it up with a T56.

But the other car i want, is an LH/LX torana SLR replica, with an evil motor

The start of my next project/real machine:

    VH Commodore.
355, large solid cam, single plane manifold, ported heads, few other little tricks ~ 400rwhp.
Custom springs, Bilstein shocks, large sway bars, solid strut tops.
    17x9" rims and VL diff.
T56 or T5 dog box (still deciding)
    interior stripped and caged.
Harrop 4 piston calipers all round, 343mm front 2 piece rotors, 315mm rears.
    Nice track/targa car.

Well we have the car, the block and heads, the brakes and half of the suspension components. Just getting rego on it at the moment as an efi 5L with the brakes and having to do some engineering stuff for a few other things.

Shut up Stealthy...lol :P. Yeah, you got a pretty tuff package there.

The VP wag should be mint hakhawk... nice choice of color...a gunmetal metallic or something is it?

The Aero ute... thats a interesting idea... what base would you start with for that? a VL wagon or...?

Good to see some sweet ideas coming through guys. Keep em coming...
