    Default Stuck rotors

Hey just tried replacing my front rotors only to find out that the existing ones are stuck. Have had a good look and have discovered that the centre is rusted out like anything and has 'bonded' the two pieces together. Have tried wd40 and a hammer but to no avail.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

do you have a big sledge hammer? definantley not keeping the old rotors yeah?

soak the centre hub with wd-40 then smash one part of the rotor from behind with the sledge hammer, then rotate and repeat until it falls off.

all it needs is a big bang with alot of force to get it off

if you not re using the rotor go for broke with a hammer/sledgy, see if you can get someone to hold a hammer behind where your hitting, and dont hit the studs

I assume your talking about doing this on your VY?
Theres two extra holes that you can put a bolt through (cant remember the size of the bolt, hopefully someoneone else can) and it can be used like a ball joint removed type system. But sledge hammer is the quickest, I normally start with smalls taps, rotating the rotor, and work my way up to large hit to prevent damaging anything besides the rotor.

once you have em off, clean up the hubs real good and then give a light coat of grease. this will prevent the same problem occuring if you ever need to get the new rotors off in the future.

i always spray with lots of crc/wd40 in around the hub and the studs then let soak and repeat. the nslowly rotate rotor and tap from behind normally does it for me. that freezing spray is also a good idea. probably better then smacking the crap out of it. after all, some of that shock load will transfer into the bearings and thats not good in the long run

Took the advice but didn't have freezing spray, had to take the entire hub off coz it wouldn't budge, once that was off smothered it in wd40 and gave a few good hits while a mate was protecting the hub and finally got it....
