how the hell do you remove the auto shifter

hello boys and girls just quick question...
HOW THE HELL DO YOU REMOVE THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFTER!!!
i hate when little pieces of plastic make me look like a fool, i was trying to get that and the surrounding (the thing that has d, n , r, 1, 2 etc.) off but i have no idea how, i nearly got the jigsaw out lol. so please if anyone could help this poor suffering retard out, i will give you sex.

Be good jonny.
On the vs what you do is remove the ash tray , or whatever you can from the surrounding panel. slip your fingers in and pull the panel up , one clip at a time. You will notice that it is tight in some spots, this is where the clips are holding it in. Pull gently. you then remove any wires that are connected to it , and rotate to slip over the gearstick. The 123DNR panel should then be easy once that panel is off.

i just had a baby as well, bloody unlucky for you hey lol. um i can get that whole centre section off, besides the two things i mentioned. i just feel like im going to brake the surround if i pull any harder, so wanted to know if there may be a screw or something i cannot see. cheers

Its much easier if u remove the whole console and the kick panels, once u have those out u can get access 2 the 4 clips on the shifter surround (which doesnt actually need 2 come off) but 2 get the shifter itself off theres a screw on the back of the shifter remove this then under the shifter housing u will see a pin that holds the shifter in place and its used 2 lock in each gear wen u use it, that pin just needs 2 b punched through with a hammer use an old phillips head or a nail punch and tap it through. The whole shifter should then pull straight up.

in front of your glove box pop the little surround up from the back first. there is 2 screws at the front from memory, same ones that hold the little fold down compartment in or they are under it,loosen them then remove surround, under the shifter surround there is 4 clips u have to push in as u lift the surround. even with the shifter out its a prick of a job mate

god damn it, well looks like im gonna have to end up breaking dads balls. lol stuff him he does this **** for a living............. actually now that i think about it he probably rearely does it, his a mechanic.

once the consoles out theres 4 plastic clips on each corner holding the shifter panel on.
