ok ive got this car that hasnt been started in freaking in ages got a new battry (this is not a commie btw). ok now im thinkin i need to clean the gunk out of the carby. im gonna clean the air filter, what should i use to clean the air filter? also if a car has been sitting there for ages is the fuel pump gonna go ??? or should that be okay and should i drain the petrol tank and fill it up with some new stuff cause i reackon its been at least a year anythin else im forgetten???
yeah replace the petty. Some seals have more than likely dried out which might cause it to catch fire and burn.... or less brutal your fuel pump might have already dried out (mechanical?).
Air filter wont stop it starting, it might even be easier to start it without it first up if you aren't keen on replacing it just yet. Gunk in the carby might be a pig but it wont stop it starting.
a good squirt of "start ya bastard" or something similar always helped my seldom started falcon paddock basher.
wait cause wat to catch fire and burn and what seals are we talking about yeah i knew te air filter wasnt to blame thought i may as well clean it while im at it now i gotta rip this stupid fuel pump out lol
or a cap of petrol streight in the carby should fire it up
the fuel in the tank you will get away with syphining out and new fuel put in
yea thats what im hoppen ozzie little paranoid about what vlv8vic said lol
lol don't take that too seriously. chances of it happening at pretty slim. More likely with injectors that 'spray' petrol under pressure.
Like anything though if any rubber has dried out there is always the risk that petrol will head somewhere it isn't meant to go.
What is this mystery car you speak of?
to be honest dude i cant remember might be a mazda its actually a friends and yeah lol
