    NOS: Nitrous Oxide System.

    I suppose the person would be able to tell which one it is by the genre of the thread

    I think I've only ever seen an SRS system called ARS (in a book) once. It's much more commonly used abbreviation is SRS (Supplemental Restraint System), at least in this country anyway. Simply for the fact that airbags are not the only component in your restraining system. such as the seat belt pre-tensioner.
