engine is finished

hey guys i recently put up a post about changing my engine as our car got stolen and they stuffed the motor in it, so i thought i would put this up to let you all know that i finishd it but now it has a bit of a rough idle when i first got it started it was realy rough so i started going over every thing turns out i had the number 3 spark plug cable on the number 5 coil so swaped it over and all was good but it still idles a little but rough so am now unsure wat else to check, anyway i am pretty stoked becxause i have never done anything like this before with motors so i was realy pleased when i go it started and thanks to eveyrone for your help with tips and stuff it was very appriciated

Remember to run the motor in now...then once it's done so, enjoy the extra power you should have

yea thanks mate i have had it running up to operating temp and left it running for about 15 mins making sure there was no leaks and stuff so i will take it in to work and get our mech to g right over it make sure it is running the way it sould be and to make sure i havnt missed anything

Well, when we rebuilt ours, we run it in for 1,000km to make sure it was all good.

Then, when it ticked over, we booted it.

you shudnt baby it if u just built it....drive it hard as soon as its warmd up....if its been rebuilt properly u shudnt have problems m8...otherwise its been done dodgy

hey yea the motor hasnt been rebuilt i just brought it off someone it is out of a vp calais but yea i will be treating it like a baby for a few kms lol

That's when they're out of the factory. The factory runs them in for you.

We rebuilt this ourselves. The parts had NEVER been used before, so they had to be run-in.
