Default what cat back exhaust do u recommend

    hey all

just wanted to get an idea of what u would recommend for a cat back exhaust

i thought i had a dual 3" but ive actually got 2.5" lol

couple weeks ago i decided to put headers and highflow cats, they are 3"

im gonna do a cam later on and was thinking ide do the rest of my exhaust in dual 3" now

what im after is a nice v8 sound...medium to loud-ish

do the exhaust shops have any controll over what the sound will be like when they make a custom exhaust, if i go down the custom path

or what brand name exhaust would u recommend, and again, is there any controll over what sound those make or are they just bolt on and thats it??

prefer mild steel as well...my pockets arnt that deep for stainless lol

    cheers in advance guys

If you've got twin 3" cats, you might as well go for twin 3" all the way. If you go custom, they can make it to however loud you want it, they can move, change, subtract mufflers as they need to. I'm noticing 3" system prices going through the roof lately, there might not be a world of difference either custom or ready made. I know I do a single 3" custom system on average $1000-$1200, thats with a cat and single muffler.

Going on that, have a look at the Difilippo systems, I deal with them a fair bit and they are good to talk to.

As a reference, I do Pacemaker 1 3/4" primary 4-1's, hi flow steel 3" cats, and a twin 3" straight though system for $2100 supply only. On a VY SS this same system took the car to 419 rwhp. It has a cam and a custom tune as well.
