    Default Calibre VS. Speco gauges

    hey folks,
i'm thinking of going tomorrow or Friday
to get myself a Voltmeter and watertemp Gauges
but don't know which brand to get?

as far as i know, speco a slightly less accurate
i like the calibre stealth gauges (black face, blue backlight. suits my cars black interior theme)
but the watertemp is in F* (i'll bit the bullet if i have to)

    1.which one would you recommended?
2.whats the difference with mechanical and electrical?
3.do i get the mounting pods with the gauges?
4.how do the speco look like when light up during the night (does the whole face light up or just the numbers/bars)

    thanks
post pics or links if possible

Might be worth checking out super cheap auto, i saw they had some gauges on special in there catalogue, backlit ones. not much point having a temp gauge in Farenheit becsuae youll spend half your time doing the conversion calculation

Out of those two, Auto-Meter Seriously, Speco used to be pretty good, but the calibre don't look too bad. They probably have the same internals.

Mechanical uses diaphragms and springs to display pressure etc. Electrical uses electronic senders. In short, with electrical you don't have to run miniscule oil or fuel lines around the place. That's actually the reason people should be mounting gauges outside the windscreen, so if a line blows, your cabin isn't sprayed with fuel or hot oil lol

    Generally, no. They are extra.

I know on the older ones, it's a non-backlight, so it lights up the whole face. Not sure about the new ones.
