ive had them done a few times now on a few of my cars but just keep turning brown, no matter how much i clean them...
so anyway does anyone have any tips for removing them? besides attackin my tyres with a grinder....
cheers...
should try and get real rubber white walls bro.. if they make them in that size? might have to order them from the states though.

See i've had mine for 2 years now and they still look fine. It must come down to how you treat them or maybe the tyres you drive on.
I never clean mine except at the carwash and I just use the foam and pressure stuff.

trust me i treat em as good as possible... and i have had whitewalls on 3 different tyres b4, done by 2 different people and still turn brownish... dnt know what the go is...
and yeh suppose it could aslo just be the quality of the paint they are using... but anywayz does anyone know a good way to remove them? if not ill rotate them so the walls r back on the inside..
cheers..
i have no experiance with them but from what ive heard some brand tyre shine will make it turn brownie or diff colours
do you use tyre shine on them?
maybe ask NORTI she has had experianced some good and bad tyre shine on whitewalls and knows what to steer clear off to stop discolouring

get the tyres put on so the other sidewall faces out.
pretty simple really.
You can remove the whitewalls with paint thinner I assume, but you'll still be left with the indentation/grind mark around the tyre.
yehh like i said, thats the other option if theres no easy way to get them off.. id just like 2 try get them off 1st tho because i rotated em before i got the whitewalls done and i dont wana change them back and keep wearing out the insides of the tryes...
all of the tyres have been bought brand new and never ever had tyre shine put on them...and all have done a a few thousand Km's before being painted (usually atleast 500km's is recomended)..
thanx for the advice anyways people..
I've had good results with the Holden tyre shine from the dealership as Derryl(whitewalls S.A) told me too only use that on white walled tyres.I cant remember exactly why though lol it was something about no silicone content or something but had them done before i changed tyres & they lasted about 12 months.
Forget about trying to remove the paint it will just end up embedding itself & look crap.
Just flip them over
I use heavy duty degreaser for my whitewalls I never had a problem from the paint turning brown/yellow and I never use tyre shine

well im rolling on stockies at the moment but i have my eye on 19" dolce dc12's in black/chrome, reckon they will look nice white walled.
dunno about red on your car mate, will look out of place lol
and to the dude that said rotate the tyres.. he already said he isnt keen on that because of tread wear.

i've been running white walls on all my cars for about 3 years, i found the best way is to get a bowl of water with a bit of soap and clean them down (warm water) then hit them with degreaser, they come up pretty new after doing that
This is taken from a writeup on whitewalls in a Street Commodores mag:
"...recommends you avoid normal silicon-laiden tyres shines. Instead aim for a natural product like lanolin that you buy from saddleries and other leather specialists. Apparently, silicon based products will also destroy your whitewalls".
"...maintenance will regularly see you cleaning the whitewall. Use an alkaline caustic product and a nailbrush, and then rinse with plenty of fresh water while making sure not to get any on the mags".

Aren't most tyres designed to rotate in one direction only? I know my Bridgestones are.
