does anyone know how long whitewalls last like the ones you get put on after and is there special stuff to clean them
Quite a while if you look after them..
I used to wash mine with the same solution you wash the car with, just give them a good rub with the sponge..
should have done a search mate, this stuff was covered a few days ago, were people said what types of tyre shine works and what doesn't, i'd link for you but then you wont learn to use the search :P
mine never last long...last ones turned brown after a week and wont come clean now..
mate had the same problem...
but otheres seem to have success with them..
They will easily last the life of the tyre if treated correctly (i.e. mine 2 years on).
sav just get red walls and copy will like you want to haha
The SA guy has an extremely good reputation for his work, the Interstate ones aren't so good.

Most of the others are just wanna-be's trying to grab onto a fad.
the best thing to clean white walls is a bit of jiff on rag rubbed directly on the white wall and the best way to bring up standard tyres is spray on armou rall or an equiverlent sand let it soak them buff off,and while we at it mr sheen works wonders on tinted windows, and wax brings up all of those faded black window surounds and mirrors on commodores , take it from somone who had plenty of practice
ohhh ok well lucky im in SA eyhaha thanks for the feedback the reason i was asking is cause of what VL-187 said in his thread about whitewalls so i was abit like hmmm lol

I WANNA DO IT.
just rang around my area (south island) and found only 1 guy who does it and he only does it in white or red. bugger I want blue.
I wonder if it'll ever take off here? cos it seems to have taken off big time in your guys country.
Start a company that does it, and do ALL colours. You'll rake in the cash!

also gotta remember there aint a town around me with a million people in it, well hey theres only one town here like that.
In SA its Whitewalls SA. Name is Derryl.
PM me for his number.
Can anyone give me any more information on this, i.e tyre grinder brand, paint brands, hell even the method, i've tried a million searches and only seem to come up with patents LAME
Had mine for about 18 months and still quite good, just a few tiny cracks in the paint here and there. Apparently the guy who does them in VIC has started using a different paint that lasts even better.
