    Default Cop rims....an odd one?

We got a cop rim which is different from the rest. How many types are there?

I only thought there was 15x6's and 15x7's.

We have a 15x6 which looks different from the other 15x6's we have. Looks like the offset is different or sumfin, not 100% sure.

Here's the details off the 3 wheels.....does anyone know anything about the 3rd one? Like wat it's off?

    15x7

was my impression cop rims were always 15x7, and 15x6 are concidered stockies(but ppl always get dubbed into thinking they cop rims cause they dont know better) just because they painted silver dont make them cop rims.

There all known as cop rims as there the stock wheels.

the 17s usually get reffered to as chasers.

The 3rd type is the 6in wide one relased on VP IRS cars. Like i said tho, never seen them before (holdspares had a set they claimed were from one, but i didn't bother looking)

afaik, well theres the "naming" issues now too lol.
stock holden rims 15x6 painted black
"chasers/cop rims" bt1 police spec rims were 15x7, as the police used the better brake pads and tyres were a little wider, and these were painted silver.

Thx for the info. Yeah I realise the 15x6" ones aren't actually cop rims, but I still call them all that, even if they are black.....saves lots of confusion...well to me anyways. If I'm talking about proper cop rims I normally say 15x7" cop rims.

I always called 15*6 rims "stockies" or "ceptors" and the 15*7 "cop ceptors"

But then people say cop rims as (i might be mistaken) aren't there 2 different types of stockies???

Like the stockies, which might've been on the Vhs and stuff mostly, maybe VLs and vns.....Like stock wheels on the HQs-WBs..........you know?

and then theres the wheels with the round circle holes around them.........stockies too.

So we say cop wheels, to differentiate between the two styles of 'stockies'.

LOL, but I'm probably entirely wrong.

And then you have BMW stockies which look almost the same, but have more holes, and slightly smaller ones. Although they say BMW, not GM, they fit perfect.

No well you see we had this talk before Cop car Commodores have allways run 15 inch rims without hubcaps. So everyone used to go OOOO rims with lightened holes, interceptors!. So the 6 inch rim was a ceptor back in the day before they invented the heavier stengthened 7 inch. And with the BMW "ceptors" the steel one has smaller holes are more of them and the alloy version has bigger holes and less of them. Untill modern Commodores the standard rims were solid with no holes. And then "ceptors" became the standard rims and then made a better stronger one which first came out on the Utes I believe? thats the wheels I run 15x7 stengthend from the ute

Yup, even the 14s that came standard on early VNs didn't have the holes in them

Ive always known 15x6 as stockies and 15x7's as chasers, chasers are so much nicer, the deeper dish tucks away the center caps very nicely!

Thats it! So I was right!

So commodore interceptors would fit a BMW? Same with any mag wheels?

So what happens now that police vehicles no longer use pursuit rims and commodores no longer come with stockies either. No more steel rims!

Whoever told you about the "different compound" must have been having a good old yank at the time! Police wheels were whatever was manufactured for the general public at the time. In some cases, (NSW for example), they were even the wrong wheels for the car - NSW Police insisted on buying 5 litre Executives optioned with various heavy duty components and standard 15x6" steel rims, which Holden did NOT recommend.
