petrol cap jammed on? wtf!

went to fill up with petrol just before, and i cant undo the petrol cap. with all of my force.

it turns fine clockwise (does the normal thing where it clicks), but i cant possibly undo it.

suggestions? is the cap screwed?

How the hell can you tighten it so much that it does that!? It clicks before it gets to that stage! Not sure why you can't undo it though, try in the warmer weather? And try not to drive your car unless your willing to push!?

As a last resort just smash it off maybe? Use a hammer to smash the black section off then try and pry the rest with a screwdriver or something. Can get a replacement quite cheap.

mine used 2 b like this untill i replaced all my breather hoses on the filler pipe, give that a twist from inside tyre well and try push on the pipe outwards should release the cap at least thats how i fixed mine.

my toyota does this sometimes, I believe when its run empty in hot weather, then I try to remove the cap when its cold.

anyway, just stick a spanner on it.

yeah might be cos its been cold here lately. it did click when i tightened it, and still does click if i turn it clockwise.

all fixed. she came off using a shifter. didnt break it or anything and it now tightens and loosens like normal. no idea why it was so tight
