I was wondering how to tighten up a cars handbrake?
Like what the dealer does in a service, where the amount you have to pull the handbrake lever up so it holds the car.
Over time you have to gradually pull the lever up higher as it "loosens"
Sorry if i'm not using the correct words referring to the action...
Thanks Tyson
adjust the nuts at the front of the cable
Where are they accessable from, and how?
thanks Tyson
what kind of car have u got?
Got told by the place i get work done on my car to adjust it till you get 6 clicks til its tight when you pull it up.
Its not for my car, its for my parents Toyota Camry.
Can the nuts at the front of the cable be accessed through the inside of the car, or do you need to get underneath ?
Tyson
should be underneath the car.
have a look under there. where the handbrake is in the car.
you should see a stell line. with a few bolts if you tighten them up you will get a tighter handbrake.
if your still unsure take it to a mechanic or go buy a gregorys manual from super cheap
Ok guys, thanks very much![]()
