Thread: removing factory wh head unit.

    Default removing factory wh head unit.

    as title suggests, putting in a double din dvd head unit, everything else is under control, just not sure on how to remove the factory head unit, anyone done this before or got any ideas?

    I've never seen a WH head unit before...does it have any holes in the sides like the other VT/VZ and VY/VZ head units that you can put a coathanger into to pull it out that way? Pulling out a VT/VX or VY/VZ head unit is a piece of ****, and I can't imagine that the WH would be much more difficult, unless they didn't put the holes on the WH unit.

    If not, you'll probably have to look into removing the dash fascia.

    couldnt see the holes until i removed the fascia, all good, got it out, now just modifying the fascia so the new dvd screen can slide in and out freely

    yeah will take some tomoro morning, had to file some of the fascia away to let everything move freely, and there is a bit of a gap underneath which is visible from the back seats, thinking of ideas to cover it or fill it.

    un did the screws near the cigarette lighter, took the fascia off around the gear stick, then undid another two bolts that hold the little compartment in place, and the top part simply un clipped like the bottom half with a bit of force. dont be scared to break it, i was fairly rough with mine, and no damage has been done
