lately when i go to wax my car it comes up looking good, but the reflection looks blury, i was wondering if a clay bar will fix this.
and if anyone who his a detailer or has previous experience can post up the steps in which they use to clean their car to get it looking showroom condition?
Clay bar wont fix that mate, they only remove contaminants on the paint surface.
would the problem be caused to waxing it too often, and also when removing the wax its very hard to remove sometimes and it leaves streaks in the paintwork unless i rub really hard to get it off. and yes the micorfibres cloths are clean
whats a decent polish to use that repels dirt and rain etc
well what i would start with is yes wash the car then claybar it,
then grab some mothers cleaner polish, then apply there swirl remover and top off with there carnubura top coat....
but really with out seeing the car or know exactly what it looks like cant really give much help
so doing it the above way it will strip the car off all the wax and contaiminets etc and give it a nice new coat
the process i usually follow is
rinse car
meguires gold class car cleaner
rinse car again
chamois excess water off
apply meguires tech wax
give me some dough 02DUBH and ill show you![]()
have been meaning to get back into contact with you, no job at the moment, hence the reason haven't gotten back to you bout the rims, but should have a new one soon if all goes well and ill be in contact
If you want your car looking its best with minimal effort and time by hand, give it a good rinse with a pressure cleaner then wash it with NXT Gen Car Wash, while its still sudded up, get a clay bar and go over the vehicle, then wash it again, rinse off and chamois etc..
Meguiars NXT Gen Wax it and will be shiny and repel water for at least 6 months.
The cloudyness in the paintwork just means its due for a cut back and polish up again, black is a bitch.
might have been, i live in gawler and the girlfriend lives in hillbank, so may have been.
once the $$$$ starts flowing again i'll def be in contact about the rims and a proper polish and wax.
Sounds good![]()
No, no no people! There is a thread above this that has been made a sticky called Detailing tips and tricks. Read my posts in that and you'll learn something.

I'm in the middle of a massive detail at the moment. I'm doing in the following order:
Clay with Clay Magic Blue
Paint cleanse with P21S Paint Cleanser
2 coats of Zaino Z2 Pro
3 coats of P21S 100.
My usual wash routine is the following:
Hit with high pressure spray
Pre wash with Poorboys Bug Squash diluted 3 parts water 1 part Poorboys Bug Squash
Hit with high pressure again.
Wash using 2 bucket method. I usually use Final Inspection Paint Pampering Body Shampoo but I'm using P21S at the moment.
Then dry with a waffle weave drying towel after blowing out side mirrors, sills, window trim etc with compressed air.
I think you're mixing up polish with wax. Wax protects while polishing is used to correct paint defects.
Not baggin you mate ^^^ but to most of the demographic on here, that seems like a bunch of confusion, especially if the products are expensive or arent really available off the shelf.
People these days want quick simple and effective methods of detailing, and if its all too hard they will usually get a pro to do it![]()
watever u do dont use that no water cleaner leaves swirls like a bitch how much does a cut and polish set u back approx $100? im just talkn paintwork nuthing else

Yes you have a point. But you have to remember there are no short cuts. If you want your car to look as good as possible you have to put in the time and effort. Simple and effective don't go in the same sentence together.
On the other hand if you want a 'pro' to do it, you'll only get what you pay for. Don't expect to pay someone $50 to get it back to showroom condition. I did a major detail on my car 18 months ago. It was a 16 hour job and that was with machine buffing.

Ha ha ok then.
Z2 is a sealant and P21S 100 is a carnauba wax. And they're not really overly expensive. P21 100 costs $95 and it'll last well over a year if you apply a coat every month. Alternatively P21S Concourse is $55. Z2 will last longer as it is a Synthetic. If anybody wants an affordable and easy to apply carnauba wax I'd recommend Optimum Car Wax (OCW). Well it is actually a hybrid but contains carnauba. It retails for about $35 and is simply spray on wipe off. If anybody wants to know where to purchase, shoot me a PM. Might get in trouble if I post a link.

im hearing ya, but most people ive come across as a detailer want their car to be shiny and to bead water.
There are simple and effective ways of doing this that do look good and are cheap. Sure the macro shots of the paintwork wont be perfect, if you wanna go to that extreme then spend the time and money.![]()
Just picked up this thread started by O2DUBH. I'm with Meguiar's and thought I'd add our recommendation.
You state "lately when i go to wax my car it comes up looking good, but the reflection looks blury"
Because you say "lately" I'm assuming this was not always the case, and therefore the problem isn't a paint defect such as orange peel.
The clay bar is used to remove surface contaminants that are bonded to the paint. Stuff like tree sap, industrial fallout, paint overspray. From your description, this will not solve the problem you have.
Assuming the paint is fine, best bet is to remove all the wax that is currently on the car to ensure you have a good starting point. This can be done with our paint cleaner (A3016A). So, to kick off, wash and chamois dry the car.
Then apply the paint cleaner, one section at a time. Once you have used the paint cleaner, check the car for swirls and minor scratches. Also if the paint has faded a bit. If you have swirls and minor scratches that should be removed, consider either Scratch X (G10307) or Color X (G11816). Without seeing the car I can't comment on which option would be best, but Scratch X will take out more scratches than Color X. If the paint is fading, use Color X. Both of these can also be applied with a Dual Action polisher which will deliver a better result than hand application.
Finally, finish off with Nxt Generation 2.0 wax for a deep shine and high water beading finish. This is a polish and wax in 1 step. Use a GOOD QUALITY microfibre cloth to remove and bring up the wax. Job done. You can also choose a 2 step (separate polish and wax) process instead of Tech Wax, but it's more work and effort. Up to you.
A really useful tool is the RX prescription on our website. Welcome to Meguiar's Australia, the Leader in Car Care products
Just answer a few questions about the condition of your car, and it will recommend a step by step process, and which products to use.
I hope this helps O12DUBH !
Cheers
