just heard about these few days ago. Lukey high flow panel air filters, water washable and fit standard air box. Anyone tried them ?Are they as good as K&N ? Do they wash out clean or slowly get full of crud ?
I rang a few stores and they either never heard of them or don't stock them. sounds like they are not popular, or no one knows about them ...
Bursons have them.
IMO they are just as good, better if you take the price into the comparison.
thats what i thought, but i rang burson's they said don't stock them.
Rang Repco they said never heard of a lukey air filter !! ( even though the lukey website said they were my closest dealer !! )
Which bursons did you see them at ?
i got 1 in the VT from repco $60. IMO much better than the KnN no oily crap on the TB and easy 2 wash. Ive only washed it once b4 but im assuming years down the track it would need replacing.

I want one, ill trade someone my K&N for a Lukey.
yeah the cost around the $50 mark, depending where you go
i got one from where i got my exhaust done, $44 at carline.
Yeah there good filters, I bought mine when they first came out at bursons for $50
Yeah some places promote them, others have never heard of them. Lukey don't seem to have done a very good job with their marketing department![]()

I paid $40 for one at Bursons Dandenong. Turfed my K&N after nearly 100,000k's on it. Rand out of oil, plus accidently used pressure air to blow it dry which is a big no no with the cotton...Lukey you can dry it any which way. Even if its not better, its at least equal to a K&N in my opinion cause fuel eco, throttle etc did not change. If not better for first few thousand k's.
With the marketing, K&N like Amsoil have a very vicious advertising regime, all over the place internationally. Lukey have a large market to crack into. Their money is made in Exhausts systems not filters. In my opinion they developed it to complement their systems etc....instead fo push someone Else's make your own !
Nice, i'm hunting one down this week. they sound a LOT better value than K&N. I get the feeling a lot of stores are pretending they don't exist cos they will make more money from K&N, especially when you consider all the recharge kits you have to buy.
One thing i noticed on the lukey site is that the filter that fits the VL -VS commies also fits heaps of rice motors .. Nissan 200SX, 300, 350Z etc. Anyone know what filters they use in those Jap turbos ? pretty sure they wont be paper ones ...
