Hey guys,
I know it aint a commodore but my falcon seems to be overheating and ive flushed the radiator and im looking for a reason for it to be overheating, like i know its been 40degrees today but previous 35+ days has had no problems. Could it be a cracked head?
Thanks.
Is it going redline or where on the temp gauge is the needle going to?
If you are adding coolant every day - bubbles in the radiator (cap of when cold), could well be cracked head.
The old Fordies are well known for it
yea it gets hot not really fast but gradually and im turning on the heater to keep it low as possible. what other things point to a cracked head? anything performancewise?
take the oil cap off, look inside the cap,
crack head or blown gasket will cause it to create thick cream like crap under it
might missfire as a plug is wet and steam will come out of the exhaust
when i cracked the head on my vl the only way i could get it to run was by putting a hose pipe into the radiator, it was flowing just as quick back out of the exhaust
