Effin car theives!

I just wanna share a little heartbreak. My prized and beloved vc is dead. through no fault of my own.

one night i woke to the phone ringing. it was the police.
"do you know where your car is?"
"yeah, parked out the front."
"think you better check"
"hang on... OH F***!"
sound familiar?

the police chased the little bastards about half a kay before they lost control and put my baby completely sideways over a rather tall gutter. they hit it so hard that thewhole diff/axle assembly moved enough to pull the panhard rod off the chassis, breaking it. i limped the car home and had a better look later on.
the list is pretty scary;
broken chassis
bent panhard rod
bent axle
terminally damaged alloy wheel
bent steerin garm
broken window
damaged ignition
the insurance company took one look and said 'we'll give you 800 bucks and take your car. ok?"
i said nope and thought about what to do next.
i talked to a couple of people and they all said the same thing."she's a gonna"
i then found out that the two kids they caught both got exactly the same sentence. 18 month suspended sentence. absolutely bloody nothing!
my poor car is dead, and these little bastards walk away scott free!
anyway, a good friend of mine came across a vh sedan body being thrown away and claimed it for me. i made the extremely difficult decision to strip anything any good out of my baby, so i can build the new one. the hardest thing of all was calling a scrap metal merchant to come and collect her. so, my baby, that i built from the ground up, after many hours of work, many thousands of dollars and thousands of kilometers my beloved baby is now a catfood can somewhere. little bastards.

I would be devastated if my VS was stolen. It is my pride and joy. I have become a believer in karma and I hope that these little sods get what is coming to them. It saddens me when I hear what has happened to you.

talked to lawyer about suing, but they were too young and parents broke. not worth effort. first time caught, no community service. just suspended sentence. got the one who was drivings name, but i don't think you are allowed to post it for a bit of name 'n' shame, being a minor at the time. but i now have a new toy, starting another ground up build. going a little more custom this time tho. so i guess there can be silver in the clouds sometimes...

insurance wasn't alot, but because of the age and model total value was $1400 minus $600 excess for young driver.

Don't get me started about our legal system... really really terrible. You get no punishment when you steal a car, a fine when you are found with a dangerous weapon (I'm not talking about a small pocket knife etc) or drugs are found on you. Yet if you cheat centrelink or get caught spray paintin' something its the lock up for you.

I'm not saying the centrelink cheats and graffiti vandals dont get what's coming to them, I'm just flabbergasted that the more serious the crime is, the less the punishment.

Oh and dont you guys dare drive 105km/h on the freeway, its considered dangerous driving.

Whilst i think it should be an automatic jail sentence for stealing a car, look at it this way.

If they do get caught stealing a car again, they get whatever penalty for that crime, with those 18 months added on (even if its in the last week of their suspended sentence). Just hope like all crims, they do it again, and hopefully to one of those bait cars that the cops have!

Stupid little shits should be taught a real lesson, and them or the parents made to pay every cent. But because the parents are bums too, and the faggots minors, nothing gets done about it.

Who gives a shit how old they are, you do the crime you do the time. Simple as that. This minor's offences stuff shits me to tears (i'm only 16 myself).

And thats a prime example of how our fine legal system has served justice.

It's like if I or my dad, well more so my dad, caught vandals graffiting on our fence, and then taught them a lesson; maybe make them eat the can or break their legs or something. He would be the one to go to jail, and they would likely get off scot-free. But it's the same with everything. The victim gets punished while the real criminal gets off scot-free.

In some counties/states in the US you can call 911 and tell the cops your going to shoot a bugler who is on your property and the law will be on your side. A mate who visited from the states told me it was a situation that happened in their state which got TV airtime.

Guy was asked to look after his neighbours property. Saw thieves. Called 911 and asked when the cops will be here. Cops said X amount if time (not much of a priority as the neighbour was not home). Dude told 911, OK, I'm going over to shoot them. Put the phone handle on the table, 911 heard 2 shots. He came back, picked up the handle and told 911 the cops can take their time now.

I know a bit off topic yet I just couldnt believe it when I heard it.

Also I read in the paper that in Australia shoplifting something under $300 of value is now decimalised. A fine applies, that's all.
