Default replacing brushes in an alternator

    Hey guys,

im selling my vl and i need to get the alternator working. I have the bosch alternator and its a RE60 regulator, im looking to replace the brushes in it, rather then buying a new regulator, can anyone guide me as to how the hell to get at the brushes, theres no screws or anything letting my access the springs/brushes etc.

Here is a pic of the re60 regulator, and just how warn the brushes are....

    Throw away unit..
Just go to wreckers or just buy the Regulator..

Regulators are only $50 or so new if you cant get one from the wreckers...hopefully it is the regulator & not the diodes.

hay bro, ull need a soldering iron and new set of brushes. if you look at the top of the reg you will see 2 solder joints. tin your iron and insolder them. then go to your local auto elec and get a new set of brushes ( like only $4-$5) and pull the new leads through th hole. then just resolder. be sure not to loss the springs.
