    Default Brake Discs

    i got some new brakes and they have a bunch of surface rust on them. i was wondering if i could get some help as to how to clean the rust off them?
    all the cool kids are doing it...

    Just use sand paper or emery paper. Once they are fitted the brake pads will wear what ever is left off.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

    As mentioned, the pads will take a certain amount off with application, but with a few heat cycles, you won't have to worry about the rest anyway.

    Yeah, if it isn't too bad on the braking surface it will come off the first time you use the brakes anyway.

    But for the rest that I assume you will be painting, a wire brush will get most of it off, then give it a go with some sand paper

    If the rust worries you that much get them sandblasted.
    No need to sandblast the braking surface though, the pads will eat that rust off.

    i wouldnt worry about it.it will come off through use
