Hey guys... hope this is in the right area!
My mate has a 2005 BF futura which he has recently turbocharged. It has 215 rwkw and he said it would destroy a VE SS. Im not so convinced. Is he dreaming?
would be close.as the ve ss's are like 220 at the wheels i think.
Definately wouldn't destroy it, but would give it a run!
The reason i say this is because the 240kwt xr6turbo in that model went toe 2 toe with the ss and while the 6T was quicker it was marginal! So i would say your mate would be on par but prob a lil quicker!

yeah would be a good idea on the track but we don't know anyone with an SS... the standard xr6t's have like 185-190 atw i think. So this one is pushing out a bit more than a standard Turbo. CXCXCXCVCVC (did I get that right?) what model SS are you saying would be slower than the 240kw XR6T's ? surely not the VE SS at 270kw..?
Also I should mention he has the 4 speed sludgebox not the ZF 6 speed. But the shifts have been firmed up and it changes VERY quickly. The VE SS run a 6 speed box don't they?
The 245kw BF xr6t with the 6 speed auto is about the same if not quicker than the VE SS, the 240kw BA's are a bit slower with the 4 spd. Yep VE SS runs 6A or 6M. Your mate might be infront of a ve ss, theres only one way to find out as said take it to a track and have a few runs
hmmm anyone wanna donate their SS to find out the truth?? :P Which is quicker... the 6 speed auto or the 6 speed manual in the SS?
Mostly depends on power to weight. I know a bloke with a turbo charged N/A VL. Stock boost with 3 inch exhaust. Had it dynod, 150rwkw. Used to destroy standard 5.7L's.

A friend owned a BA xr6t with over 200rwk and he upgraded to a VE SSv.Asked him how different they were in power and he said the BA would have won off the line but the 6.0 would eat it for brekkie after that.Take it to the track and sort it out id say.
Heres a good read/review for you to enjoy!
If your mate does not have the ZF box then he will be a little slower but with that said, the XR6T is a Great performer off the floor!

i agree, turbo quicker off the mark but ss would catch it in the long run.turbo looks shit loads better to.
That was a good read matethanks for that! I can't believe that the falcon is quicker off the line though! I thought the falcon would be better in the higher rev range when the turbo is in full swing :S
So my mates futura has a bit more power than a standard xr6t - about 288 hp atw and about 400 rwnm of torque so even though it has the old 4 banger it might still nudge in front? Gee that would be a good race to see lol!
well im backing the ve ss /coz it dont matter how much kw ya got if ya dont know how to get it out of the car (not the car its the driver)
yeh just try not to wheel spin it off the line thats allthen full throttle it
