So today I got around to giving my car a good inside clean, pulled all the carpet out the boot and the previous owner must have spilt oil in there or something. So the carpet is half black half grey and was wondering how I clean the carpet, can I put it in the washing machine or will that take the stiffness out of it?
Then theres the bottom of the boot, half the carpet is stuck on there by the oil... How do I give that a good clean? whats a good type of degreaser or something that i can use for my car?
Thanks![]()
Dude just use upholstery cleaner and standard degreaser.
Rip the carpet out and replace it, and use a rag soaked with turps very carefully to clean up the oil , it wont hurt paint but will remove a small thin layer of bitchamen paint and allow to dry
^^^^^^^^^^ what he said and then u can chose if u want black or grey in the boot![]()
Take the carpet out and give it a good spray of truck wash and let it soak in for 30mins. Then hit it with a gerni and it will come up like new. I've done plenty of oil stained carpets like this and always get excellent results.
Some form of powerful degreaser and a gurney will pretty much take care of anythingThat's the way to do it!!
