a razor scrapper, scrape as much glue off as you can, then windex or metho with soft steelo or nylon scourer, this job sucks! and takes up a bit of time.

Yeah its a pain to do if u dont have the right stuff.
Ive heard u can get it off good with a steam cleaner, which takes the glue off with the tint.
Other wise peel the tint off and use tint glue remover but i dont know where to buy it, only seen tinters with it...
Or pay $50 to get it taken off from a tint place

For the rear windscreen, Spray it with water then stick a black garbage bag to it and park the windscreen in the sun for about an hour to sweat it off.
    Peel away the rest.

For the doors, you will need a razor scraper with plenty of new blades, starting from one corner and working your way to the middle, then from the middle working your way to the other corners.

    AMMONIA!
and windex contains ammonia, alternatively you can buy a bottle of ammonia at the supermarket in the cleaning isle.

good heat gun hotter than a hair dryer and plenty of razor/scraper blades. takes ages though better off goin to a tint shop i reckon fifty bucks saves a lot of heartache

Might be a dumb question but can you tint already tinted windows? I find my windows aren't dark enough so is it possible to put a second layer of tint on or do I have to get the windows back to standard and then apply the darker tint?

You can tint over old tint, but its not a good idea. If that tint is on its way out, it might bubble or peel, and thats gonna wreck the new tint too.
Best spend the extra $50 and have it all look band new

wtf? no one ever thought of good paint thiners?

use some bloody gunwash (T12) or MEK (Spelling?) Methyl Ether Kentone.

Get a few pairs of dishwashing gloves though, a green scourer thingo for the dishes or 5 a handfull of razor blades, I bet it will take half the time. even UNI should be strong enough.

I'd be surprised if there was any glue used to affix the tint to the windows. Usually they just use water and by gradually expelling the excess water the tint shrinks and dries onto the glass. You could try using a heat gun (very low - warm setting only) and gradually by starting from a corner slowly pull it off after applying some heat. Too much heat could crack the glass. Be careful.

Yes tint has glue on it... water would not do the trick....
You shrink the tint to suit the shape of the window on the outside of the car first, then on the tint there is a clear layer which you peel off which exposes the glue, and apply it to inside of car

The tint is in A+ condition

As you can see, it's a very light tint. The dealer told us it was darkest legal but most people don't even think it's tinted. Could I just tint over it or just fork the extra $50?

In person it isn't dark at all. Maybe that pic might describe a bit better. You can see straight through both windows with ease.
