hey guys and gals i am considering buying a G-Tech Pro SS and was just wondering how accurate it is..
i was reading u can get the 1/4 time pretty accurate but what about the HP/Kw readings? how accurate is that? (i have also heard you have o get ur car weighed and have to have the g tech at 0 with the gravity or something?)
thanks in advance
Stas
You have to put in a pre-set weight for it to figure out your power and torque output, it's part of the algorithm it uses of course. You could either get it weighed full weight, or just find the manufacturer specs and guess as to how many layers of pizza grease are embedded in the seats etc and add that weight to it
From what I've heard they are pretty damn accurate, there are slightly more accurate gadgets out there, but they tend to be at least double the price for only a minor increase in accuracy.
That being said, either way you won't really know how accurate it is. Dynamometers read differently, so you'll never get a 100% certain figure, as it will change between dynos. A G-Tech will give you enough accuracy for you to reliably claim a power figure, supposedly there are certain dynos that will give more optimistic readings than a G-Tech without any real reason for it. Just don't go claiming it's something massive or people will question its credibility![]()
ah ok sweet thanks for the info, might get one then
yeh theres a few ways to modify the dyno readings eg putting one of the sensors infront of the air fun to make it go really cold to bump up the figure... and some more dont remember them tho![]()
